I had a cheeky smile and hello from
A lady today while out walking my dog. I mean she might have seen me Take my profile pic for all know. And it was just a knowing wink lol  |

My mates are 99% ex mil… A compliment Is usually followed straight away with a put down.

My mate wears some really flowery shirts,
Occasionally I’ll say “nice shirt dude, does Noel Edmunds know you’ve borrowed it?”
Both ways usually illicit the response “dickhead” and a grin |

I think it so sad that men don’t receive the frequency of compliments that women do.
I have a trans friend who was really saddened by his lack of attention when he began presenting as male.
It’s seems to be the norm to compliment women, so without additional reason to think otherwise, it’s just seen as it was intended. Women compliment each other constantly.
When a woman compliments a man, there is possibly an assumption that she’s done so as she’s attracted to him and it’s simply not the norm for men to constantly compliment each other. |

This topic was inspired by the compliment I received this morning. I was very surprised, so I worked out the last time I got one before that: Twenty days ago. Two compliments in under three weeks! I feel very lucky.

Very often. The way you are and conduct yourself is so important.
An old lady complimented me this morning for being so helpful when I asked if she needed any help while shopping as I could still she was struggling |

I spent what feels like a lifetime feeling invisible but the last few years it's been amazing. I am SUCH a different person and I think this shows in the energy I put out and get back in compliments. I feel blessed to get them all the time these days. |

Going by your previous posts and discussion on this matter and the threads that we’ve both commented on, if the same had happened to a woman, the man involved should be criminalised..
Why is it ok for a man to receive a compliment and not a woman?

As stated in my original post, this thread is only about compliments on one's appearance – I specifically want to avoid being drawn off-topic by instances like this.
This isn't about compliments related to what men *do*; it's about compliments based on how men *look*. |

I have extremely well cared for and curly hair
I get compliments multiple times a week on it
If I go out out on a Friday/Saturday I might get 100 different girls asking about it

Probably an equal amount. I've never been one to comment on someone's appearance unless I know them well and likewise I rarely if ever receive compliments from strangers. |

If I was I'd never know because it is not something I would look for or particularlylisten for. I have my own styles and appearance for different situations/occasions - thats simply me and no desire to be complemented on any of them |

Personally I rarely receive compliments and I'm not sure why. If I see a pic that looks good I say so mind sometimes get a thanks but tbh that's as far as the conversation goes.
Am married and we both swing and have singles profile...does this put women off talking? |
