Some in my experience do but personally I rocked the rough diamond look with cropped hair and facial scars and found that to be to some ladies liking without having to partake in the badness bit.

Oh happy days.!!!!

Could be that you have changed the type of woman you are around now you are in a nicer area.

You are nicer, as are they and perhaps they like to get to no someone a bit more before jumping in the sack.

Will always defer to women on this ...

But I've taken the view that women (people) want someone who is confident in their own skin, doesn't compromise on who they are in order to get a gal, and lives their life for them.

Bad boys normally fit this bill. But not just bad boys. However a lot of self proclaimed "nice guys" don't fit this description.

In the interests of clarity what do people mean when they say "bad boy"?

I take it to mean untrustworthy, emotionally immature, treat em mean to keep em keen attitude and unreliable.

We had a neighbour whose husband was what I think if as a bad boy. She told me once "that's why I love him", to me she was the epitome of a door mat.

Nonsense.

I see the appeal that might be confused.

But good guys don’t finish last. And they do get the girl.

I may look rough and ready and my life story feels like an action movie at times. But I ain’t a bad boy.

I couldn’t tell you if I’m popular, or lusted after because I’m a good guy! I’ve no idea. I just know I’m me and I treat women with respect. I flirt, and I’m cheeky as hell. But when I’m with a lady my eyes are never taken away from them.

There’s no one else that turns my gaze. And they are the reason I’m smiling so much.

With them I’ll flirt, joke, chat about like and want to know all about what makes them who they are. I like swapping life stories and talking about each other’s dreams. But I’ll always enjoy there story more than mine (I know mine) lol

If that makes me a good guy… then I’d sooner be that

Strangely enough that is almost how I would describe someone who is too nice to be true.

A purple people pleaser who doesn't have the courage of his convictions and doesn't have an opinion of his own.

Someone who needs validation from others or who reminds everyone that they are a nice guy, a gent, someone to be trusted is actually the least reliable and trustworthy character.

Everyone will have their own definition of what a bad boy is but usually they are much more transparent.

Subjective, I don't know if because a male is more desirable he will be more successful and thus becomes more arrogant from it, that as opposed to a respectful man who feels he needs to try harder in this way to make up for less desirable attributes... Or is a bad boy attitude a sign of confidence that women are always attracted to, confidence is probably the number one key to intimacy. I'd say more the latter to be true.

I'm not a "bad boy" but I'm not a nice guy either, even still I wouldn't quantify my success or failure with women to anything like that.

No the part where you describe what you take to mean a bad boy. Untrustworthy, emotionally immature and unreliable are all words I have used to describe someone claiming to be a nice guy. Usually because in acting as all things to all men he or she is all of the above.

Bad boys are usually more clearly defined even if they are playing a role.

As some spend all their money on leasing a big flash car and going out to fancy places which is like a honey trap to certain girls. It's the whole package that goes with them, no one wants an outright knob head but for some girls they accept a bit of give and take...bad boy but get money spent on them. All falls apart when they realise the lad still lives at home orrrr they're a drug dealer

"Subjective, I don't know if because a male is more desirable he will be more successful and thus becomes more arrogant from it, that as opposed to a respectful man who feels he needs to try harder in this way to make up for less desirable attributes... Or is a bad boy attitude a sign of confidence that women are always attracted to, confidence is probably the number one key to intimacy. I'd say more the latter to be true.

I'm not a "bad boy" but I'm not a nice guy either, even still I wouldn't quantify my success or failure with women to anything like that."

Confidence - is the key...

From the bad boy image, to a doorman, barman, DJ, guy spinning a waltzers the fairground, to a small fat balding man with a Ferrari, lawyer, politician, policeman, fireman, squaddy.

They have a what most could perceive as a "cocky arrogance".

But it is that confidence women are attracted to.

As a people watcher and ex DJ from nightclubs and pubs I've seen them all offer the 30 odd years in that business.

It is the same thing every time.

A small percentage of ladies will go for the quite reserved guys. But the majority would be all doe eyed for the cocky arrogant fucker..

And It is probably a primal response. Primal Confidence is a sign alpha male dominance. Hunter. Leader. Good genies for future offspring...

Don't agree with that statement. However good boy or bad boy it helps to know the game and box clever.

I agree with how you expanded my point and is very interesting to know that you seen it first hand.

But confidence isn't something you're born with, an I can only explain that it's a characteristic you develop with successes and in some cases taken away by not necessarily just failure but many contributing factors

Totally agree. How a person presents themselves counts for half. How they act and talk is the follow up.

If you stand tall are comfortable in your own image and believe in that image you are already sending signals to potential partners.

3seconds - it takes 3 seconds to make a lasting impression.

There is also the 6ft, 3ft, personal space body language to look at also.

You have 3 seconds from 6ft away to make that first impression.

If the individual holds at 6ft. They are not sure if you meet their personal criteria.

If they move from 6ft to 3ft. They are interested and will decide if they want to approach your personal space after talking to you.

I have sat in fetish clubs minding my own business drinking a soft drink either people watching or reading a fetish magazine/book and have been approached.

I have stood in nightclubs by myself minding my own business and have been approached.

It is not about the looks its how you hold yourself and are perceived by others.

"Could be that you have changed the type of woman you are around now you are in a nicer area.

You are nicer, as are they and perhaps they like to get to no someone a bit more before jumping in the sack. It's not that it's that there's no booze or dr*gs to hand.

nah mate never done drugs had a drink but never been a pisshead "
