Google "transgender brighton", you will find several trans social and support groups. Note that "social" generally doesn't mean "sexual", but more often just a safe place where you can dress and chill as your preferred self with no danger of being laughed at.
My start was at a similar type of group in Manchester, which was basically just a bunch of people having a drink and a chat in a private upstairs room of a pub. Acquaintances from all walks of life who happened to have one thing in common, but otherwise were just a random bunch of people.
