Most I’ve paid is £80 in a restaurant for a steak, place was fancy and the steak was decent. Didn’t come with sauce though, one of them places. Couldn’t bring my self to ask haha bit of blue cheese on it would of been spectacular!!! |

"Right now I'm that hungry I wouldn't care about the price.
But I'd probably eat a macdonalds as well. "
Someone bought me a Macdonalds once, I don’t think I could ever be hungry enough to want to eat another one. |

"I can get sirloin steaks at £5 a pop, restaurants are extortionate. "
But there is a difference between buying your £5 steak at a butchers or supermarket and the one you purchase in a Restaurant, where there are far different types of other costs built in for not only its supply, but it's preparation, service and so on. Be realistic about Restaurant service!
I was in Hospitality for over 40 years and know from my F&B experience, costings and so on, what it can be like.
However, there are some elements (ie, Restaurants and Hotels) who do take the mickey over pricing way over what it actually costs. |

Tbf you're quite right on the added costs restaurants have to tack on.
I suppose I'm a tad spoilt because I feel I cook a mean steak. |

But how do they justify nearly a fiver for a fancy tiny basket of a side order of chips, with the equivalent of one potato in the mug size basket |

"I’m off to Hawksmoor this week, so I’ll answer after if an expensive steak is worth it. It’s got some way to go to beat the Argentinian steak I had in Amsterdam. "
I feel that, had amazing Argentinian steak in Amsterdam (drool) |
