After a few days of taking a break from all things fab, I am slowly making a come back.
I haven’t been eating too too much lately (usually if I calorie count I tend to about 1400-1600 calories per day but that’s enough as in I’m not hungry but I’ve had less this week) due to personal reasons but now that I’ve rebalanced a bit …AND I feel like I could eat everything in sight …
It started last night with a huge burger … and now I could eat My couch, my dogs, the whole fridge freezer, my neighbours… and still this bitch be hungry …
Women… does this happen a lot for u? Is there such a thing as hormonal eating? I do notice I have weeks in a month where I’m ravenous. Like literally.
Help! X

"Yep. A few days before my period and then during it my appetite is an insatiable pit craving carbs, cheese and everything that tastes good. Bleeding nightmare."
Obviously I don’t have periods but I do get a sort of equivalent do to hormones without the bleeding but I’m a bloody nightmare. I wonder if progesterone is also causing this.
Literally insatiable pit craving , I feel ya

Don't have the need to eat everything but do have weird cravings... my evening peanut butter on toast with a glass of milk is usually enough of a warning the hormones are kicking in and will be kicking off soon. |

I can’t speak from a lady’s POV, but I know from work that when people are dieting or sticking to a calorie controlled (so like you, eating a set amount of calories most days) way of eating if they divert from that plan and eat a lot more or something a bit less healthy then their metabolism goes into overdrive and they get very powerful cravings. Your hunger hormones go through the roof and your blood sugar spikes. The hormone responsible for hunger is also going crazy at this point. |

"Im the same kylie,
its the food fault not ours. "
I’m usually very good and incredibly hormones have made me lose weight (maybe the mass dissolving) and I think I eat when overall what I eat in a day is enough compared to maybe before transitioning. I don’t remember really.
Either way, I have noticed that once a month I get intense hunger and I just eat and eat and eat and eat… |

A friend of mins has been doing a little research on hormones, minerals and how they work during your cycle. She said that zinc should be increased in the first 1/2 then magnesium for the second 1/2, due to the differing release of hormones. This apparently helps the cravings and also the mood swings.
I get chocolate cravings just before I’m due.

"If you've been feeling low(Mood), it could be comfort eating. If you've been feeling low as in ill perhaps you're just replacing calories? "
I don’t usually do comfort eating and I know usually my limit when it comes so stomach and being satisfied. When I have these hunger moods I am a literal black hole …
Mainly was asking for the ladies who go through similar stuff due to hormonal changes and cycles x |

My only advice is just eat what you crave straight away or you will only go back to it three hours later |

"Yep welcone to the sisterhood. "
Yasssss what a hell of a ride I’m having
To be fair tho I have to say, pre-hormones from what I can remember I felt everything more monotone, but it could be I had latent depression or so my therapist told me. (Detachments etc)
Now I can describe it more as highs are high and lows are low luckily the highs or good moods are usually a lot more frequent x |

"Dunno really? When I have bouts of depression I crave carbs like mad. It’s my body wanting an endorphin rush. "
If I have depression or problems in my mind, I tend to shut down and not touch food or eat very little as my brain is everywhere. Guess we are all different |

Yes. I go crazy for food three or four days before my period. I'm uncontrollable. And when I'm feeling quite low I crave food too and it feels impossible to satisfy the need sometimes. I hate it. |

I always kind of think if you crave something your body is telling you your lacking in something in your diet, just not sure where some of the things I crave fit in as I think I’m the only person who craves treacle toffee on a daily basis, currently down to 9 packets, so best stock up |

I read something once about cortisol (the stress hormone) causing you to produce more grehlin (the hunger hormone) so if you've been going through a stressful time, it can actually be a hormonal balance making you hungry.
However, I do get very hungry just before my period and can't stop thinking about food. But I think about food quite a lot anyway. |

"Monday midday and I still am struggling with containing my hunger
It’s got to stop "
It won't alas, the nightmare of monthly hunger that can't be sated has just begun. The good thing is when you go crazy, blame it on the hormones. |

I’ve literally had lunch before 12.., what is my life !!!!
I already kinda do blame it on the hormones. To be fair I tend to go 1-60 VERY quickly if someone touches the wrong buttons , and I know for a fact that’s due to the hormones as I never used to prior to HRT |

Oh and I did have a guy friend who went there with
“I can see the Hormones are getting to you and making you a bitch”
Excuse YOU??!! Literally you didn’t just say that …
I refrained a few times to stab his eyes with a pair my stilettos |
