I don't do the lottery often, and I don't rush to check the ticket.

I've juat come across a ticket that I bought weeks ago and it struck me that...I could have won and wasted 2 weeks working, because I hadn't checked the ticket!

Do you do the lottery?

If so....how quickly do you check your ticket?

For those that do do it...good luck

On the rare occasion that I have bought a ticket, Annabelle, I've been convinced that I would win. Then followed the crushing negativity of not even matching 1 number. It's just too much to bear

Only play the Euromillions when it's 40 million and above and usually put a tenner on.

My philosophy is if you are going to win, win big.

How much of a win would be a life changer?

Mrs Tyne does the lottery and Mr Tyne matches the amount by putting it in a little jar. We use the money in the jar to buy things for the house such as paintings etc. We have had far more money saved in the jar than we have ever won on the lottery.

I had a go on the first ever National Lottery many moons ago, I wrote out 5 lines. There where about 20 of us in the pub when the draw was made. I jumped for joy when I realised that I had won £10, so I went to the shop to collect my winnings, and the shopkeeper gave me £20, I didn't realise that I had actually won on 2 lines

Would say £10 million to have a very enjoyable last few years on the planet.

Agreed but it is unlikely to happen so we don't tend to even think about it. Mrs Tyne checks the tickets roughly once a month when she remembers.

The notification of a win would ping in about 1am

You can’t log into your account until about 6am though cos they update the site overnight

By that time, I'd laid awake spending millions on houses, cars and flights by private jet

In reality, I'd won £3.20 or a free lucky dip

Of course £1M would see you through, just invest it in property and rent it out, all dependant on how decadent a lifestyle you wish to live I suppose.

It changes a lot depending how many people had those numbers and shared the winnings. One week people got £15 for 5 numbers which was less than for 3 numbers as that is a guaranteed £25.

£28 a week for many year's, still get a little buzz when i wake up to an email telling me I've won a prize, even though i know its only going to be a couple of quid, most I've ever won is £120 and that was on a roll down!

like all gambling house always wins!

when my daughter was in her late teens she and her mates started buying scratch cards, told them its a con and to prove it went to the shop brought £150 of the same card and told them to scratch them off, i get my money back and they keep whatever is left, suffice to say they didn't make themselves a penny, and she's never brought one since!

but then I've watched a young Labourer at work win £250,000 on a scratch card, he'd only ever brought 5 cards, and never played the actual lottery! he still stayed and finished his day's work

28 quid is a lot! How great for the labourer..fair play to him.

I glad that your point was proven to your daughter.

I rarely do the lottery and I did this Monday but you've reminded me that I need to check it.

"£28 a week for many year's, still get a little buzz when i wake up to an email telling me I've won a prize, even though i know its only going to be a couple of quid, most I've ever won is £120 and that was on a roll down!

like all gambling house always wins!

when my daughter was in her late teens she and her mates started buying scratch cards, told them its a con and to prove it went to the shop brought £150 of the same card and told them to scratch them off, i get my money back and they keep whatever is left, suffice to say they didn't make themselves a penny, and she's never brought one since!

but then I've watched a young Labourer at work win £250,000 on a scratch card, he'd only ever brought 5 cards, and never played the actual lottery! he still stayed and finished his day's work

28 quid is a lot! How great for the labourer..fair play to him.

I glad that your point was proven to your daughter."

i never told her about the lad winning on one, £28 a week does add up, but I'm single kids are are grown up and have little more spare nowadays, and I'm still convinced I'm going to wake up a millionaire one morning, the human brain is a funny old thing.

have yourself a good Sunday.
