Bra wearers of fab.
What do you do when the underwire starts coming out of your favourite bra? Do you just submit to the heartbreak?
I've tried the whole sewing thing before on other bras and it never works. I've lost too many good men and I'm sick of it.
I'm just not ready to say goodbye

"This doesn't really happen with mine anymore ever since I started washing them in a laundry bag. And there's always a handwash cycle for the really nice ones."
Now you mention it, it hasn't happened to mine since we started using a laundry bag either. |

When I was at uni Ann Summers used to have a Touch Boost range that gave me the most AMAZING boobs for nights out. I'm talking gravity defying, two jiggly balloons stuck to your chest kinda boobs. Anyway they discontinued the range (or I sized out, I can't remember) and one by one the underwires on my TB bras started giving out. When the last one died I got so desperate I tried to duct tape the ends so the wire would stay in. Needless to say it was so uncomfortable it finally gave me the push I needed to admit defeat.
Haven't found a bra like it since a true friend til the end. |

I’ve tried fixing them before, I once read that elastic plaster tape stitched over it helps but it just came undone again in the wash
So now they get sent to the charity shop recycling bags. A lot of charity shops get money for rags. Not lots of money but it’s better than just chucking it away. |

To be fair my bras are so huge they could probably be repurposed to house a family of small animals |

Probably not. They're usually made from polyester. But I would assume the same guidance applies to the bras themselves, so air drying is probably best. A pillowcase may work if you really want to put them into the dryer. |

I normally grieve and thank them for all the support they've given me when things are heavy.
You can't replace them can you? But one day you'll find one that's almost as good. Until then, you use a laundry bag or handwash them, treat them with kindness.  |

This thread has just reminded me to order a new sheer black underwired bra as my wire broke through too.
Unfortunately for me I was wearing a v neck top at the time and the white wire had risen up between my cleavage and was on show to everyone for goodness knows how long before I noticed it and discreetly removed it.
