I do this apparently weird thing. If using quite a number of slices of bread for a good few sarnies, I stack all the buttered slices alternately so you never end up with greasy fingers when you pick up the finished sandwich to eat it. Nothing worse than butter on the outside transferred from another slice. Matching faces always together. Anyone else do this too so I feel a little less peculiar?

"Buttered bread, filling, if it is salad I layer the soggy stuff inbetween lettuce, cut into posh triangles

He's right and it's been proven that triangles taste better.

(I'm going to geek out a bit here sorry)

Everyone knows the crust covered sides are the worst bit and the middle with lots of filling is the best. So in each bite it makes sense you want to maximise the amount of the moist middle and minimise the amount of crusty edge in your mouth.

When you cut a sandwich into two rectangles, you have 3 sides of crust to deal with and because of the shape, at somepoint you end up with a few bites of mainly crust.

Cutting into triangles however, you have less sides to get in the way, less bites that are mainly crust and the shape fits better in the mouth to contact more taste buds at once.

So not only are triangles the right way, they are the tastiest way

I am adept enough at spilling stuff down my front without assistance from an overfilled roll
