"Charles Darwin, for determining that humans could evolve instead of being created.
Yes, and to think he was a Christian at the time, bet he suddenly became Mr unpopular at church."
Indeed. He became unpopular with many people. From a privileged upbringing, he achieved a lot. |

Rosa Parks. And strangely not because of her colour or gender or what she was making a stand about. I admire her for being alone and courageous and making a stand, she stood up(or sat down) for her belief, for dignity. And the bravery that takes, to stand (or sit) is truly awe inspiring |

"So many but because he's barely known in UK I'll say Fritz Bauer. hope that’s not the Austrian guy with the cellar?
Try Google, it's a hot new thing." ah ok got it thank you, just surprised that is your choice in that being barely known in the uk as the reason. I’d have gone with his determination to bring people to justice as the reason |

She was used by the black rights movement.
Look up Claudette Colvin, then look up why we all know of Rosa Parks but few know of Claudette. |

"Boudicca, Joan of Arc, Lilith (not strictly historical but ….)"
Lilith
Definitely. I've been studying ancient Mesopotamian history recently, and came across her mythology again, having read about her previously many years ago.
In mythological terms, I feel she gets a very bad rap, and I feel it is because she wanted to be treated as an equal, neither being superior or subservient to Adam. Adam however wanted a subservient wife and bitched to God. So Eve was created instead. From Adam this time.
(Which does tend to make me wonder...if we are talking about references to DNA sequencing, was there a greater incompatibility than first realised ? Was Lilith non-human, or a subset of human ?)
Regardless, she wanted Equity and Adam was having none of it. Hmmm.
Interesting stuff, early legends. |

My lad’s school teacher about Claudette and Rosa was the sideline. |
