What films make you cry
Jump to: Newest in thread
Most of the time when those wicked filmmakers manipulate me to. Sometimes when I’m not supposed to too.
Every musical ever probably, but as a go to, if I feel the need to cry buckets. Les Miserables. Just does it for me. Prefer the 25th Anniversary concert recording at the Albert Hall, but the movie does it too.

Silver Linings Playbook recently.
El laberinto del fauno is heartbreaking, I think I started crying quite early on in that film.
Honestly, I'm rubbish. I cry happy tears when the protagonist makes a breakthrough, says I love you. Cry when someone dies (especially if a child). Cry when films highlight the cruelty and futility of life but also when it celebrates life. Useless. |

The champ, and not because he dies.
Its the scene where he's locked up and he tells his little boy he doesn't love him or want him.
He does but knows his mother could give him a better life so pushes him away. As a father I tear up and cry at that every single time |

When I'm alone I am always very easily moved to tears be they happy or sad ones.
The first time I couldn't hold it in (because I was in company!!) was watching The Green Mile. And the second was Hatchi, which left me and my 4 buddies a blubbering mess.
The worst and most embarrassing was when I went to the cinema to see Toy Story 3. Omg I was still sobbing after the movie had finished and we were leaving the cinema. I legit could not stop bawling |

I believe once you experience your first tear jerking film, it opens the flood gates. X |

"Schindlers List.
That's a good example in my books. And The Pianist. "
I saw it first in the cinema when it was released. Nobody moved when the film finished. So harrowing |

"A dog’s purpose a real tearjerker "
Oh god! I got that for my kids to watch...sounded ok...they like dogs, it was PG rated,
Complete sob-fest all afternoon and the pair of them are still traumatized years later.
For me... Interstellar. I think being a dad to daughters mean it's a bit too "real" at times |

"Emotionally: Toy Story 3
Mentally: Watchmen, as it was so dire and I'll never get that time back but sat through to the end praying something interesting would happen "
It is a painful thing to sit through. Feeling your pain bro ! Lol |

Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I get misty eyed at so much stuff now it's getting ridiculous.
That end to lockdown Wrigleys Extra advert had me in bits for fuck's sake.
Movie wise though, The Fisher King with Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges. |
