... How certain people on here are perfectly normal, functioning members of society in real life? And that future partners will never be any the wiser to their behaviour on here?
Not aimed at any one person in particular, just a sobering thought I have sometimes. |

I don't think about it with others but do think about it of myself.
When I eventually get into a relationship, whether I mention this part of my life, or maybe this part of my life is what stops me looking for a serious relationship.
I agree, it definitely is a sobering thought... |

We walk amongst them
Does make us wonder, outwardly we are a ‘normal’ couple. What actual ‘normal’ couples that we know would make of our behind closed doors shenanigans we aren’t so sure about |

I don't see why that would be a problem.
Firstly, this is not something disgusting or dirty we should be ashamed of.
Secondly, they don't need to know everything about our lives before them.
We don't need to confess anything.

I’d question that all of those here are ‘ perfectly normal functioning people’ in normal life! quite a few of them show themselves not to be, here or there!
Partners or not is their business but there is always the risk they will be found out.. which has potential consequences for everyone in their family. I don’t think many consider that |

That wasn't the kind of behaviour I was referring to... But I agree |

Sometimes I do, sure. One of my three hate messages that I've received on here featured really cruel racial abuse from someone who had at first seemed quite "nice". Intelligent. Blah blah blah.
I try and frame it now as being an off day. Maybe they had stuff going on and needed to vent relatively anonymously. We all do shitty things from time to time but I'd like to think that for the most part people are good and wouldn't bring that into a relationship going forward. |

Really great way of looking at it, I commend you
I know I've certainly done/said some truly stupid stuff |

How do you know they are perfectly functional people outside of here, it’s just words on a screen unless you know them outside of here.
As for others finding out, it’s a conversation to be had if it arises. I know one person here, that knows a friend of mine in the vanilla world, but that fab person doesn’t know who I am here. |
