In my case it's usually the right-hand bracket that goes and yes it's usually about 4 or 5 months max, irrespective of whether I pay £3 or £40 for one, so now I've given up on the expensive ones and just go for the cheap ones |

Just tell friends you have elderly relatives "

Morning, saw the rant and just couldn't resist the toilet humour!!
You might just find that the hole for the scre on the left is about a millimetre bugger than the other, and that caused the screw to move a little every time you park your naughty little bum.
And because it keep s moving, it gets loose and breaks.
A real pain in the ass lol

Could it be the angle you sit down at? Is the loo tucked away in a corner of the bathroom? Ours did the same thing for ages until a friend in the trade gave us a super duper commercial one with soft close hinges. Since then (touch wood) we've had no issues and it's over a year. |

"It's all based on which way you move your body to wipe your bum "
I agree, and although you've tested it without a toilet seat, are you the only one who uses toilet. Do you live alone ? It could be the other people using it. |
