Is being sex partners easier than being friends?

A person will share an intimate experience with you by having sex, showing you nakedness, vulnerability, even do things reserved for the realms of trusted long term partner but ask them to be your friend and its one step too far it seems sometimes. Why is this? Has the ‘value’ of sex decreased? Does friendship require giving more of your ‘private’ self? What say you?
I was just pondering whilst washing my thighs in the shower….
Malted milk biscuit anyone? |

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, op, but I have different sorts of friendlies with those I meet on here. I don't want to mix fab with the rest of my life so wouldn't have someone from here enter into my normal everyday life. I like to keep the 2 very separate. I would still call many of those I meet friends, just a different type. |

Some of my best friends and most valued members of my life, I've met though swing, I've been to there weddings, milestone birthday partys and there kids have grown up with me around and call me auntie and know I'd do anything for them
There is some that the friendship is only a swing thing
And there is some who were just a fuck in a club |

You have to be mindful that everyone's situation outside of swing is different and for some a club is their realise and a separate part of their life than the real world |

This is a testy subject and a bone of contention with someone atm.
I'm friend abundant and don’t need any more but I would like new lovers... at the same times I'd like to be friendly with my lovers. But I still don't need more friends |

That’s not particularly strange… you can still be friendly with someone without actually being friends |

I don't think that you need to be committed friends of the type where you support each other through bad times and are god parents to their children in order to enjoy sex. I'm not sure that makes it of less value really |
