What was the first film you ever saw at the cinema / flea pit / multiplex..?

Mine was 2001 a space odyssey a special trip to London to see it in stereo... can't remember anything about it other than it was an emotional experience.

Can't remember the first one but did see Star wars on its release in a flea pit.

The first 10 rows were roped off because of a dodgy ceiling and every laser blast or explosion onscreen brought a lump of plaster down on the seats in front.

4D cinema years before it's time

St Austell

First one that I actually remember was Fantasia, on an organised junior school trip, probably around 1970/71...

....first one I went to of my own volition was Close Encounters of the Third Kind - which resulted in a couple of close encounters with the young ladies sat either side of me, when a few things startled them!

Island at the Top of the World was first film saw without parents. Went with mates. Star Wars was first film saw which changed my view of cinema for life!

I cannot recall first film seen but might have been The Aristocats Disney cartoon film.

On a mooch

It would have been a Disney one, likely Bambi on a rerun. The one that sticks in my mind from childhood as a new release, Watership Down. As a teenager, first surround sound was Top Gun.
