Just watching this on catch up, the presenter, a dog behaviour expert, is pretty amazing. Sorting out naughty pooches for people who in some cases are ready to rehome.
I have a puppy who is positively So I'm watching it when he's not with me. Lol.
Just wondering what sort of naughtiness your dogs get up to... |

I don't have a dog but my friend recently rescued one from Romania and it fucking hates me!
He barks at everyone but usually calms down after a whole. But with me he never stops! So much so that she makes arrangements for him to be out with her partner when I'm round.
I keep telling her to get this man involved lol |

My boy is a little socially inept but obedient, loyal and well behaved , that and with a plethora of tricks and skills... often asked how and if I could train others but
He has mastered the art of opening the bin, will take out a single item each night and place it in his bed. He didn't eat it or chew at it, he makes no mess with it and he knows he is wrong when he does so, his guilty look is adorable but still does it. |

"Mines pretty good tbh, as long as he gets his daily walks and some play time with his bone then he’s a laid back beagle cross that cuddles up to you."
Awwwww, mines not that cuddly unless he's teething! Or he Wales up early then he cuddles me on the sofa |

Mine sometimes tips the bin over usually when he's not getting enough attention |

My boy is fairly well behaved. He has a tendency to beg while I eat but that's my fault for giving him tit bits. He shares my bed and grumbles at me should I dare nudge him.
The only thing I'd love to change is his blind hatred of cats but that's not going to happen. |

I’ve a 5 month old pup. He is pretty good in most things and off lead on walks is good but his recall when other dogs are around is not great. He also has a habit of jumping and nipping when he gets excited and it’s driving me a bit bonkers |

I have a 7 month lab pup
She’s brilliant, I had a trainer come and do a few weeks of recall work, and she’s pretty good. Excellent recall on a whistle, which I’d recommend. But when she’s excited at play, little will entice her away from another canine friend - that’s just youthful
Zeal and energy and hopefully it’ll pass!

We have 6... 5 are angels the other one.. not so much! But we've had our fair share of crazy dogs over the years as we foster for rescue, we had a Dalmatian cross who could leap a 6ft fence like it was nothing who was a challenge lol one had been trained as a fighting dog but didn't have a bad bone in his body so was just the most unruly house wrecker ever until we got him settled, he was like a bulldog in a China shop to start with. Another had no concept of glass and knocked herself out after I cleaned the patio doors trying to chase a pigeon. So many stories. |

Before we got him that was rule no 1 ~ no tit bits at tea time. |

I've made a rod for my own back but in fairness it's usually just a bit of whatever meat I'm having.
He loves cucumber and carrots too. |

My family and I seem to watch as many of the shows as possible to learn what we can, as we need help training our dog.
He's absolutely adorable as he's a chihuahua (but actually healthy looking) and his build and colour pattern makes him look like a baby husky.
But he has a lot of trust issues and is over protective of the family. If a stranger tried to approach him, him will try to fend them off, which is a shame as he's incredibly cute and loves being fussed over.
It's taken us a long time to get him to the point, where we can let friends into the house and he recognises them and jumps into their lap for cuddles, once he knows you, your a friend for life, up until that point there is barking and biting as he is very territorial.
It's not even a case of small angry dog syndrome, we got him from a rescue center and they told us he was found abandoned in a field/wild woodland.
The rescue centre thinks that he was most likely owned by gypsies and the owner most likely a male was abusing him (kinda explains why he is not big on other men).
We have gone through 3 trainers, the first 2 where not a good fit for him and the third was amazing and then covid hit, haven't been able to seen her since.
So we have had to try and train him ourselves using all the tips mentioned from these dog shows. We still have a long road ahead of us, but hopefully we get him used to people on the street, where we can not worry about him biting some random stranger who tries to pet him. |

That Graham chap can see changes after spending an hour with dogs and their owners. I think he's great.
It's definitely worth persevering, I hope you get your dog a bit more settled ?? |

Thanks! It took us roughly 2 years to get past his never ending barking when ever he gets provoked, once started he could keep barking for over an hour, so glad we got past that! he's small but has a deep bark that makes him sound like a bigger dog.
Took us roughly 3 years since we had him, to be more open to people visiting the house, thankfully he has become more receptive to meeting new people since we moved house recently.
I do remember visiting his website, but there's no way we can afford his prices atm, due to a lot of unreasonable costs that have come up from our recent move + extension project and to really rub it in, the pup needs a costly surgery to fix a bad leg before it leads to something bad.
It will be worth it, once it's fixed as we do love to see his face when he runs around. We hit a big milestone yesterday, where we were able to let him off the leash at the park for the first time and not have to worry about him running off, he was so happy to run around without the leash. |

Sorry to hear about the impending OP. I guess, if you have it, your insurance isn't covering the cost?
We only let ours off in a secure area atm with him being so young but our confidence that he'll come back is growing. It's so lovely to see them running around. |

I have a dog who is very territorial. He's 7 tomorrow and a rescue - I very rarely have anyone over as he's such a liability. No money for more training. Not much progress in the last few years as I'm just trying to stay afloat as a single mum. |

Sadly no insurance, so just gonna have to bite the bullet and pay for it.
That's fair, what you can do is get him one of those training leads, so either the long 15 meter-ish ones or the retractable ones and use that to let him have a bit more independence. But you definitely need to have the wait and come commands fully learned before you can let them off the leash, there's lots a free training ideas on the web so definitely make good use of them and if your pup is a fast learner then it won't take long till you can let them off the leash in a public area. |

I'm sorry to hear that as I know it's definitely not easy coping with a territorial dog.
The best way we found was to have only one person over at a time. Then we use the leash and doorbell method to get him used to a person coming into the house.
It's important that the visitor doesn't make eye contact and just ignores your dog till they are calm enough to be let off the leash. It's not easy and very hard habit to knock them out of and is just all about making small steps. |

I've tried this with my step dad and he's now quite calm with him. Still don't trust him! But I need to keep working on him- I'm sure it's worth the effort |

I own a German Shepherd and he is a nightmare! Would love to be a policedog, rounded up the kids smoking pot in the park once, he ran off and I followed his yapping to a group of kids smoking pot in the woods.
Another time we walked past a lad laying on the ground, my dog walked up to him, sniffed his face and licked his nose then proceeded to cock his leg and piss on him
Was mortified tbh, the lads mates thought it was hilarious but I could not apologise enough |

My dog is fantastic. He’s really special. He’s got quite a few kids over their fear of dogs, because he’s so calm and relaxed.
He’s really well behaved except around food, he’s a pig! |

My mum is exactly the same with our dog, but dogs pick up on that uncertainty, if you tense up, they tense up. Sometimes it's just best to chill and trust they will behave. |
