I have to be honest I probably eat much worse than a donner kebab! I don't even know what half of the ingredients are I put in my body sometimes. I should really go pure and vegan. |

. Tis probably why I’ve never had a kebab in my life!"
If there was a list of foods that are soooo good but make you feel terrible after, a diner kebab is definitely near the top! |

It's made from 100% prime lamb and contains absolutely nothing dubious whatsoever.
Well....it's mostly lamb
At least in parts it is
With other stuff that's ok really
Apart from the bits that aren't
Anyway.. it's all brown.

"Chicken kebabs are much better
I'm with ya there "
That's processed too....the doner one.
The lamb or chicken shish is the only one to get. Fillet leanest of lamb chunks...delish & not an ounce of fat on it |

Fun fact: It is the food of the libertines. From the Turkish donmek kebap which means rotating roast. The Romans translated it as spit roast and it was only when Julius Caesar shouted for his favourite spit roast and two geezers from Dover brought him something that wasn’t in a flat bread that it reverted to being called a doner (sic) kebab in honour of the fair maiden (Donna from Dover) that was served up to the Emperor. And the rest is history. |

Many years ago there was a kebab shop in Swansea that got closed down. I forget how many different kinds of meat there were but according to the newspapers at the time it included seagull along with a few that couldn't be identified. It made me wonder if they were testing for seagull what the hell the unidentified ones could be ...

It potentially doesn't qualify as meat and perhaps may be better thought of as animal body components, of unspecified animals |

Will all depend where you get it from but most are a mixture of lamb, chicken, beef, veal, what parts is best left to imagination, just like growing up it was best not to know what actually went into sausages or faggots.
Making your own is the best way, at least you know what is in it |

"Congealed lamb/beef and abit of bone basicallyall the waste meat washed off the bone. Its minging... especially seeing the production of it "
Tastes nice though and surely its best to eat as much of the meat off an animal as possible considering we killed it for our pleasure?! |

I make my own with minced lamb and I also add a little minced beef to it and my home made seasoning consisting of garlic, onion, mixed italian herbs, cayenne, smoked paprika, black pepper and a little salt.
Much nicer than a take away doner and cheaper, I'd hate to think what goes in the take away ones! |

You know people are a bit squeamish about where such as Doner meat comes from
As humans we eat the lot
Cultures vary such a China where absolutely everything is scoffed down such as fish eyes etc
It’s all stuff we now find distasteful, but during war years we all are everything as it was a protein source
So lamb Doner is what it is such as brawn, hazelet, sausages, black pudding etc
I sometimes get the urge for a dirty kebab and live it….. it’s all in moderation |

As a lovely Irish nurse of my acquaintance once said about the contents of a sausage, "it has everything but the grunt". As for doner meat, I would imagine it has everything but the woof, meow, baaa etc |
