I saw a programme on people who live as cats. They ate their dinner from a bowl on the floor and everything. So yeah be a cat. Look it up you may be able to make cat friends.

That is why I am quite measured in my comment - I am sure it was not intended to be offensive but it kind of is... as it seems to suggest people change their gender on a whim.

If you'd like to be a cat, OP, then more power to you.

I suspect that, like my trans brothers and sisters experience, you'll struggle to be accepted. There's a great deal of resistance to people outside the norm, from ridicule to regarding the outsiders as less than human (in situations where people want to be human, of course). Even being regarded as a danger to society.

Trans people are often incredibly brave and face incredible trauma. It's so desperately sad that we inflict this upon them as a society. So needless.

I wish you luck in seeking peace within yourself.

"As so many people now are changing gender is it ok to want to be an animal say like a cat"

It's perfectly okay to say you want to be a cat, but you will require referal to the species clinic by your GP, then be on the waiting list for between 2 and 4 years before you even get a first appointment with the species specialist. First appointment will only cover a very basic interview just to see if you have any idea what you are talking about. You might get second appointment about a year later, and somewhere you will have to get the two psychiatric approvals that you are sane and capable of understanding the process. By year five you might get the cross species hormones approved, but only if by then you can provide the evidence that you have been living full time in cat role for at least two years without the benefit of any hormones or surgery. Suitable evidence will require a photo journal of your social transition to feline, depositions by family members and employer that you have informed them and are feline 24/7, deed poll of your change to cat name, bank statements and other financial records under your cat name. If the assessing board (who you do not get to meet and have no idea who they are, they come to a decision just from paper evidence) are unwilling to believe that you are sufficiently cat, then you go back to stage one.

If you are very lucky though you may be approved to be placed on the species surgical waiting list. As there are so few clinics, with only one or perhaps two surgeons working (part time) for those clinics, you might get a surgery appointment after 3 or 4 years. You could cut this time down by paying privately at one of the overseas clinics in the far east, however you still need all the approvals, it's impossible to bypass that stage. Private surgery will cost you about £20k to £25k for the basic op, plus increments of £10k to £15k for extras such as the facial surgery or getting the six extra nipples. If you wait and get the job done here on the NHS it is only the very basic op that gets funded anyway, everything extra to actually fix your species dysphoria you have to pay for privately.

Eventually, between a minimum of five years but possibly up to or more than ten years after first coming out publicly as cat, you might receive your feline recognition certificate. However even with this, you have to be aware that there are many people in society that will refuse to accept you as being a real cat. There have been concerted campaigns by groups of terfs (trans exclusive radical felinists) backed by intolerant religious groups, large sections of the media and even the species equality minister of the current government.

It is going to be a very hard journey, but I do applaud your bravery in coming out in this way to your family and workmates, even with the chance that many unaccepting bosses will find was to work around the various protection laws and get rid of you anyway.

While I think OP is doing a bit of a cruel joke and just being nasty, he does raise a valid point and something we’re gonna have to deal with in the upcoming future about people’s ability to identify on the spot and gendered spaces/privileges/rights/safety concerns

Genuine question, mate

Since we, who transitioned , have a lot of expectations to pass in order to be seen as women (or men for FTM)… so I’m wondering if that cat is passing too and has learnt the cat language yet

Anyone can do whatever see fit with their lives. And be a plot plant (but then actually be one and eat by osmosis)

But I own the right to be offended if I feel this post is offensive and makes a mockery of transgender people like myself.

Also Not a transformation, we aren’t werewolves or power rangers that transform or it’s not a “loser to winner” make over program

"How is that offensive...???"

It isn’t offensive. To everyone. Buy offence is a personal thing and not one defined by any specific person. So whatever anyone may say, it is clearly just a joke. Mockery? Sure, perhaps it is. But that doesn’t make it offensive automatically. Mockery is a form of humour that may or may not rub some people the wrong way. People joke about the holocaust and some even about 9/11. No one can say what is funny or not.

So I would suggest people lighten up, leave the thread if they don’t like it.

Or accept that if someone might just wanna change species. Biology doesn’t change whatever the choice a person makes and we know some people

Want to be animals.

Not us. We’re happy on two legs and using knives and forks to eat.

"Probably intended to be funny but can also be a little bit offensive?

To what? Tiddles?

To transgender people who feel they are made a mockery of…

They don’t own the right to transform.

Anyone can do whatever see fit with their lives. And be a plot plant (but then actually be one and eat by osmosis)

But I own the right to be offended if I feel this post is offensive and makes a mockery of transgender people like myself.

Also Not a transformation, we aren’t werewolves or power rangers that transform or it’s not a “loser to winner” make over program "

We can all be offended but often it’s just immature to be.

You are right you didn’t transform. You changed. But I’ve yet to meet a person from a man to anything like a real woman. My experience. My right to state that fact.

Plants eat via photosynthesis not osmosis

You’ve just offended like 1 millions transplants "

Thats the word I was thinking about and couldn’t fucking remember! PHOTOSYNTHESIS! Thanks I had it on the tip of my tongue

And sorry for being very insensitive to all those living as plants but that can’t clearly read this as plants don’t read (but apparently talk to each other by sending signals) so maybe I’ve got away with it x

You know I didn’t say I like those jokes right? I dislike them. I was using it to illustrate that all manner of subjects can be used and if you like them or not, they’re not offensive to everyone.

You should take a moment to consider the content you’ve read before responding. Again, to clarify, I illustrated a point. I did not state what I think is funny or not. Honestly, the cat stuff isn’t funny to me either. But don’t be so quick to spit back angrily.

I went out with the most beautiful Thai trans . But she fooled some some of the time. Her sensitivity was not like any past gf but her hair and make up were immaculate. She had a cock and that was a large part of the appeal I had for her.

Takeover? Sounds like you’ll be clamping down on the rest of us?

It wasn’t directly said to you so I apologise if it came that way, but as you mentioned that, I wanted to say that people should be more sensitive and sensibile about people around. Especially when they know there are people who might take offence. That’s all I’m saying

Like I said, I’m sure none would joke about the Holocaust (firstly) and especially if they know there might be Jews around or any people that might have been affected by it. Because it’s very insensitive to do so and kinda dick-ish

How would you know if you did tho? Do you go around checking people's surgical histories? Birth certificates? Researching their past?

Gender is like a football club.

You might be born into one, but when your old enough to make up your own mind, pick one and stick with it.
