Why do other men call you "mate"? When clearly you are not their mate.

Im not their mate.....n he's not my mate... So why do it?

For example....u are out n about somewhere n some guy calls you mate!! Never seen um b4 entire life! N call you mate! no nothing about um n vice versa! So why? Im not ya mate.

It’s just a polite colloquialism. A little bit tragic that you’re even asking this. Says a lot about the society we live in today

Are you the same guy that glassed my mate Eric in a bar in Majorca in 1997, for inadvertently dropping a “mate-bomb” and saying ‘calm down, mate’ to an irate d*unken football hooligan?

Australians do it all the time, and they’re right miserable bastards!

Here, boss isn't used like that. You might hear "aren't those new Nike trainers boss?" Or "last night was boss, wasn't it?"

It means something really good. Could mean a person but then it'd be used as an adjective, not a noun

Just don't message the whole site. Most people have two lines or a bunch of angry advice to describe themselves, ignore them. Only message people who actually say something interesting in their profiles.

Narrows it RIGHT down and those people are more talkative.

You might do well to become accustomed to the parlance of the locale in which you live. If you're not in Ireland and are in fact in Lancashire, you'll find dialect words used very differently.
