One thing that really annoys me.
Why is it that people in the uk call films... movies??!!
I hate the term "movies" or "movie night" it sounds so 1970s!
N btw we live in the UK!! Not the usa ....its films in the uk and movies in the usa.
In my life its films!
Same as people say it's "the pictures"... it's cinema!!
Now there's a difference.... Pictures do sweet fa .... Cinema shows action packed 4d adventures! |

'people In the uk' is quite the generalisation.
I'm in the UK, from the UK and have always called them films.
But to be fair, they can be called either. Nothing wrong with either. |

"Can't generalise the English language it is so diverse. Fancy starting a debate on what a bread roll is called.
Oh no ...is that the whole tea cake debate "
Yes I call it a bread roll, Mrs Tyne calls it a tea cake, if you ask for tea cake up here you get one with fruit in it. A bread roll is called a bap shall we start a debate? |

But why films? That's so 1990s.
Most are digital and not on film anymore.
At least movie is still correct. |
