I'm trying to think of a new hobby suggestion that will get a friend out of the house who doesn't go out very often apart from to work or visit family.
They are quiet natured and don't enjoy pubs or social situations.
I was thinking of kayaking which does appeal to them, the only thing is I think it would be a cold time of year to start that. Do you have any suggestions?
They are not very sporty so nothing involving running or intensly physical would work.
I or other friends would be accompanying them. |

"Are there any forges near you that do beginners blacksmithing courses?
That is an interesting suggestion I will check out what's available like that locally."
Good call, I think it would be a Brilliant skill and hobby. |

"Stand up paddle boarding is less strenuous than kayaking so might work?"
It sounds lots of fun, but I'm just concerned that it's the wrong season to take up an outdoor water hobby. (Hopefully it is reasonably easy to do for somebody who has no experience in paddle boarding too) |

"How about photography, good excuse to get outdoors to shoot various things. There are daily photo challenges they could follow to make them think, ideas. "
I will definitely put that on the suggestion list. That sounds good |

Yoga; Tai Chi/Qigong; pilates; Wing Chun (you don't need to be strong or sporty - you just need to do it right!)?
Jewellry making course?
Live nude art drawing course?
Photography course?
Join an art club?
Book reading group (if they exist?) |

All they need is their phone. The challenges do make you look at things differently when out.
Hope you both figure something out |
