In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

Following a conversation with a fella who shall remain nameless (until such a time as he outs himself), and who admits his embarrassing music choice was New Kids on the Block (he had posters all over his walls, the duvet set and all 5 dolls).....

Anyone got some music in their past they're a little embarrassed by?

I'm totally the embarrassing one who rocks the fact she can't resist reliving the bad music of her youth btw.

I'm not ashamed of my music tastes, past or present. I enjoyed them for a reason. While some music styles from some bands I liked, may sound outdated by today's standards, I'll still play them for nostalgia.

For music, it's about feeling happy at the end of day for me, and if 'terrible' music does that, then zero f**KS given

Sometimes (if not quite a few times) music is connected to memories. So you may have met your partner at a party, club etc.. a certain song comes on and it reminds you of that moment. Or various other scenarios that brings back happy or even sad memories but the music helps remembering that moment with affection.

So Cliff Richard, Some People.

Spice Girls, Two become one.

5 Star, Rain or Shine.

I could probably think of a few more, but these are artists I wouldn’t normally listen to.

That's entirely so. Music can evoke such powerful memories and thoughts after all.

I'm embarrassed by my Take That paraphernalia collection. Mainly because I have no idea what the point was. But Take That ruled!

I'm not ashamed of ever liking R.Kelly's music. As I said up there ^ somewhere, liking the music doesn't have a bearing on the person themselves in my view.

I love a bit of cheesy pop reminiscing.

I have Right Said Fred "I'm too sexy" on my running playlist. I think I would run faster if ever anyone heard me listening to it on a run haha

The first single I bought was Frankie Goes to Hollywood "Relax". I was 10 years old and too shy to buy it as the cover had this super sexy lady and guy in leather undies, so I asked someone to buy it for me... its such a sweet memory.

I enjoyed listening to all pop as I was growing up, NKOTB, Bros, Kylie, Jason Donovan, 5 Star, Janet Jackson...I so wanted to be one of her dancers, Madonna, The Bangles... and so many more.

Plus I also listened to Queen, David Bowie, The Eagles, The Supremes, Tina Turner, INXS, The Beach Boys and lots more.

I don't regret my musical choices over the years, some give me good memories whilst others are an acknowledgement to a time period within my life whenever I hear them now.

"I loked Bros for a short period when I was 11.

I'm a bloke.

The shame of it.

Luke.Goss turned into a decent enough actor though so not all bad.

"

I loved Bros. But I was a girl, so kind of more acceptable. But we loved boys who loved that stuff....

"I agree that the artist and the music should be separate. But I can’t imagine anyone driving down the road on a summers day, with their window down blasting out Gary Glitter singing ‘ D'you wanna be in my gang, my gang, my gang, D'you wanna be in my gang, Oh yeah!’

"

This is actually a very good point......

"Was always a sucker for the 'wacky' one off's; Swap Shop's Brown Sauce "I wanna be a winner", Chubby Checker and the Fatboys "Twist", Young Ones & Cliff "Living Doll", The Firm "Star Treckin"

...although I draw the line at Crazy Frog, there's a special place in Hell for those who put that to No.1"

You're my soul mate.

"I love a bit of cheesy pop reminiscing.

NBVN x

"

Yes! Exactly how I feel!

"Following a conversation with a fella who shall remain nameless (until such a time as he outs himself), and who admits his embarrassing music choice was New Kids on the Block (he had posters all over his walls, the duvet set and all 5 dolls).....

Anyone got some music in their past they're a little embarrassed by?

I'm totally the embarrassing one who rocks the fact she can't resist reliving the bad music of her youth btw.

Nowt wrong with NKOTB, Right Said Fred, 5Star....

I'm more (not really at all) ashamed that I absolutely adore Taylor Swift - the woman produces excellent pop music "

Yeah she does!!

Where do you stand on All4One?

"I liked the Ramones because I wanted to be cool and edgy and not like these common-folk who listen to pop music.

Hearing them back, I never really liked them but tried too hard to force myself to like them "

In that case..... I allow your shame. Be you, young FH! Don't be someone you're not.

Now come embrace the pop loving.
