After wearing killer heels and dancing half the night last night, I had to remove my shoes as i couldn't walk anymore.. I was approached by a lady and a man who handed me a pair of flip flops to protect my feet.
Its a voluntary group who patrol the streets at weekend, helping and looking after d*unk people... |

I've seen this on Telly. Only available in certain towns/cities.
Great there are such lovely organisations and volunteers willing to look out for others and receive no pay other than personal reward |

My church have been contacted asking if we'd help start one up where I live. While I agree it's a good idea, I hope they don't just ask religious groups or specifically just Christians. Religion shouldn't come into it, it should just be caring people looking out for others. |

"I would like one of these people. Can you hire them for the night?"
Wouldn't you need them full-time Ryan???
I must be getting really old, I have a pair of foldy-up slip-on shoes in my handbag for the rare occasions when I am able to wear my heels...oh the shame |

Probably. I wouldn't want to sign into a long term deal though in case they couldn't keep up.
I guess they are a bit like a drinkers caddy but instead of handing you a putter, they pick you up and wipe sick off your chin

"The dont preach to people
They are trained what to do by the police and first aid people....
We know a few people who do this...
Fantastic service...."
Not sure if that was in response to me but if it was...
I know they don't preach, I was thinking more the other way, like they could be targeted in a negative way because of their religion. People may not agree with a certain belief and alcohol may make that discrimination worse. This could result in the 'street angels' being in a dangerous position, and/or someone not getting the help that they need.
This is my only concern about it, which doesn't outnumber the praise I have for the scheme |

We have a group that hand out bottles of water to people out drinking to try to stop them over indulging. Not sure about flipflops but that's a good idea too I think these groups are brilliant and should have been set up years ago. |
