I like to challenge people on their views and it gets me into deep water sometimes. But I also manage to put my foot in it without even trying.

I think I'm quite considerate and tactful but I definitely have a 'blurt out' function. I recently asked someone who'd lost a lot of weight, and was rightly proud of it, whether they'd been ill  Even as the words left my mouth I wished for a delete button. |

One of my kids asked their teacher that (my child was quite young at the time) and I had to come to school over this "offense".  |

lol - I explained that my child was 7 at the time and had no idea of the kind of etiquette required when facing a pregnant teacher, or rather one that had recently given birth. TBF my child had absolutely no idea what they had done wrong. It was all abit silly. |

I do it quite often, without meaning to. I've managed to charm and appease on occasion, but usually I just go red while stammering nonsense. Other times I think to help with it and follow through. |
