You cannot change that aspect of your personality. At least you cannot and remain happy in yourself.
I did a lot of therapy to remove what I felt were negative aspects from my personality.
In the end I ended up embracing my "control issues" and my overthinking. I'm happy when I'm in control. My wife is also happy when I'm in control. So what's the harm.
Above all else OP you have to be genuine to yourself. Otherwise you are playing pretend and that's too much work |

"Being asked to change my way of thinking, stop being submissive and I will date you. Anybody else had this happen, people wanting to change your lifetime personality? "
I remember seeing the title of a play once, “I love you, you’re perfect, now change” |

I'm weirdly wonderful, enjoy the ride or get off the bus. I'm not going to make myself unhappy to try and fit in with others. It's taken a lifetime to become this bitter and twisted, I'm not about to become sweetness and light now. |
