You know when you're talking to someone on fab, and its all going well, getting a connection, looking likely that its moving towards meeting, .. and then ... they just stop logging on to fab.

Their profile is still there, they just stop being active on it.

like they just get sick of it all of a sudden and just walk away from it all.

Fab fatigue is the best I can come up with for a name for this phenomenon, but is there a better, pithier, name for it?

They stop logging on because something more important is happening in their life at the time.

Agree with most others. It’s just life. It happens to me all the time. I’m usually really active for a few weeks/months (like daily) and then work goes mental and I just find no time to check anything.

So if one of your children became ill and rushed into hospital, would you think about logging on to Fab and telling everyone why you were no longer going to chat for a while ? Or would you just not think about Fab ?

"They stop logging on because something more important is happening in their life at the time."

I think this might actually be the case. I was just wondering if there is an existing slang term for it ... or if we could make one up just now.

Why catastrophise it?

It was an example. I can post my thoughts as I choose.

Depends how invested u got? If it was a situation where u were a bit invested. I’d be annoyed he/she didn’t message to let you know they got too busy or had stuff going on

Otherwise they just flaked!

This . I do it all the time. I’ll be on loads then buggar off for days/weeks. I communicate with any close people away from fab anyway though. I rarely chat on here so wouldn’t really affect anyone.

"They stop logging on because something more important is happening in their life at the time."

Ding ding ding!

We are more than happy to chat to people on fab when we have the time but we cant and spend days or weeks of messaging back and forth to get a meet.

We like to do all our communicating face to face but we understand Fab plays a part for some.

We've had plenty of short conversations with people and then met shortly after. Great stuff, went as planned. We've had some where we talked a bit, it went dry for a while then boom, 3 months later its "do you want to meet" and then we do. Also great. But we've also had plenty where we have spoken for weeks then nothing happened.

We never assume anything when people stop talking to us and hope they dont assume anything about us when we stop talking to them. People have lives and not everything revolves around getting laid or chatting people up. It would be nice if it did but the bills don't pay themselves and who else is going to walk the dog, cut the grass, paint the hallway, put the rubbish out etc etc

Definitely life priorities take over. I'm 7 months pregnant, I'm not meeting before anyone jumps on, but I check out the forums keep up with friends, then I might be off for a while appointments, kids etc and fab takes a back seat.
