He should have stuck to airing his personal opinion to his personal social media, rather than hijacking morning telly to grandstand is what I think. He was like a stuck record.

I also think he’s a pretty odious character on tv. He purposefully courts controversy and talks over everybody. I’m sure he’s not like that at home when Mrs Morgan tells him to put the bins out, but still.

That said, ITV were well aware of what he was like before they hired him. So they made their bed there.

I think morning telly is far more soothing without him. I don’t mourn his loss.

You post in here. Does that make you fair game to make derogatory remarks and accuse you of being a fraud and a liar?

We get he doesn't like her, we get he was pissed off because she rejected him. He needs to get over it.

Nearer than you think

"Piers has been exonerated by OFCOM. He was entitled to say what he said on breakfast TV about the Markles..

Not true. The complaints were not upheld because it was felt the other presenters dealt with Piers' comments live on air. It does not exonerate him, it exonerated the TV programme. Quite different, Tom.

"Think there were over 50,000 complaints. "

The problem is Tom, that people don't complain after careful thought or analysis of facts - they complain based simply on personality / favouritism / or misplaced loyalty.

So you can discount most of those 50 000 - These days people complain in order to give themselves air time. They don't give a shit about what happened.

I don't agree that he acted the way he did because of any past they may or may not have had.

The way I see it he spoke with honesty about the situation as he sees it.

The 'rejection' thing is a rumour that started circulating during the hoo haaaaa and got taken up by those whose biases it suited.

He did not accuse markle of lying.

He said 'i do not believe her'

That is a difference and would be dismissed by a court.

No outright accusation was made.

Did he ? Good for him. He's too experienced to make a very obvious slip up.

I don't recall exactly what he said but I do remember thinking his colleagues were 'shit' to him. Especially the weather bloke ( the little weasle )

I did suspect at the time that it was sort of planned between all parties..... that the blow up was a 'break' that would bring publicity. Did anyone else smell phoney ?

You'd be wrong. If you really think we don't have free soeach I suggest going to a truly oppressive regime and see how you feel then.

Lots of people disagree with climate change. It’s generally regarded to be a bad thing.

To right I agree and with Piers Morgan.

I'm positive, he would be the first person to be by your side if he could help you in anyway.

If your not a person so far stuck up your backside and a embarrassment to the world!

We are all biased Evie and I don't 'like him' as much as I think his persona is better than most for a news desk. I like him being around - but yes - my biases cause me to stick to the question in hand rather than someone's personal life that's been shoved into the public eye as a smoke screen.

Are we talking about the same guy who presided over the hacking of a murdered teenager’s phone? The idea he knew nothing about what was going on is fucking laughable. He’s an amoral waste of skin. The sooner he faces justice and is expunged from the airwaves the better.

You say smokescreen.... Some might suggest it's background and motive.

Bit like someone suggesting she's making all her accusations up in an attempt to gain notoriety..... Who did that I wonder?

I couldn't stand the bloke before the markel debacle and I don't now.

Good on Alex berisford for rising up to him and showing him for the bulky boy he is. He behaved like a chastised child and walked out when given a taste of his own medicine.

"This thread is not about climate change it's about free speech"

First we need to agree what free speech/freedom of speech means.

From seeing such debates about the US, many use it in a way that isn't what is defined in the constitution.

If they can't agree (with a written continuation) we could all argue ot cross purposes forever.

Then he can't moan about the consequences or ask for his job back now.

They haven't exonerated his comments, in fact they said they were potentially harmful and offensive but that it opened the topic of racism up for further discussion.

The investigation was against itv for broadcasting it, not him for saying it.
