Now the phrase "Muffin Top" may mean a lot to many people but to me it was something I'd never heard of till I read a small column in today's Daily Mirror.
Apparantly the "Muffin Top" is the bulge of fat visible above the top of tight, low fitting jeans.
Now Asda have taken a year to perfect a pair of jeans which use built in support to lift the bum and flatten the stomach and are selling them at £18 a pair. Selling at 100 pairs a minute, there must be a lot of "Muffin Tops" that I hadn't noticed....

I had never heard of 'muffin top' until fairly recently either.
If I buy or try on low rise jeans or trousers then I admit I do have a bigger muffin top.
So I just tend to stick to buying higher waist jeans as it covers it up! Plus I find them more comfortable anyway....
Can't see how a pair of jeans can magically lift your bum and flatten your tummy. Surely it's more asbout finding a cut and style of jean that works for your shape. |

Is this a case of the emporers new clothes?
Any item of clothing that claims to magically makes bits of you dissapear can't be taken seriously
Its sad that they're flying off the shelves so quickly because that just means that women believe all the hype and are quick to chuck money away when all they need to do like _endaroos said is find a better cut of jeans that actually suit the shape you are |

I agree and many brands/labels also have the same type of jeans already, ones that lift, tuck etc...all a lot of nonsense! And we don't need any more!

"Simon Cowell's obviously got a muffin top!!
He's been wearing high wasted trousers for years!! "
I know and lower cut ones for him are clearly a "waste" of fabric in his opinion |

"Why didn't they just buy higher waisted jeans?
I have to say though, low slung jeans don't flatter everyone."
Depends how low they're slung!
Can look very nice perched just above the ankles sometimes!! |

"Down south a muffin top I though was the big boob in a smaller bra resulting in an overflow bulge at the top bit like a muffin "
Nope, it means the overflow, as described above. |

I thought the term 'Muffin Top' was used when referring to the thigh of a lady who's wearing her stockings or holdups a size too small, causing her shapely thigh to 'swell' out of the top like a muffin? |
