Oooh. Random assault? Where do I sign up?
Yes. I have been groped unexpectedly. On various occasions by various men. And I've responded in a variety of ways depending on my mood at the time. Bursting into tears, grabbing their pride and joy and twisting, a punch in the face..... quite the range of reactions. |

So, still non consensual, then?

I have been groped, it’s vile, and I hate it.
If it is mistaken identity, that’s on them, they should be making sure before they start touching people up. |

To me, 'unexpected' seems to strongly suggest that I haven't consented to it.
No, I absolutely hate being touched unless I am prepared for it and am comfortable with the person touching me |

If someone did unexpectedly squeeze my bum then they can expect a karate chop to the throat and I’m none violent generally |

"Any been groped or like to be groped unexpectedly?"
Yes. A few weeks after I moved to London (from Dublin), I was in a pub in the City added work one Friday; and a girl came out of the loos, marched towards me, said “you’re cute), and grabbed me by the balls and started snogging me.
I remember feeling quite happy about this turn of events |

Ah so like you thought you were away to nip someone’s bum who would appreciate it and realised fuck! You’re not who I thought you were.
I would be on my knees begging for forgiveness in that situation. Thankfully it’s never happened |

The first time I recall it happening was on a crowded bus on my way to college, standing room only when I got on, and the bloke who was sat next to where I was stood decided that he couldn't resist groping my bum...I grabbed his wrist, held his hand in the air, and shouted "does anyone know who this belongs to? I've just found it on my bum". It's happened many times since, an awful lot in busy pubs and clubs over the years, and I've never once just let it slide...I'm not afraid to call them out, but I'm painfully aware that a lot of ladies would be extremely upset and/or intimidated by it.
With someone that I'm intimate with, an unexpected grope is welcome and is in fact a turn on...it lets me know that they can't keep their hands off of me. But a stranger? Not acceptable! And I'm not afraid to let them know how much I disapprove! |

It's happened to me a several times from in a club to walking in town & never expected it. I try to laugh it off or ignore it & walk away.
I do my best to put a positive spin on things when I can so if it happens to me then try to view it as a "compliment" of sorts, that I looked good enough to grab their attention in the first place |

Am not condoning it or asking people to go do it but I bet partners have squeezed the hips or bum of some random thinking it was their partners while out and some people do have fantasy's of meeting a fit stranger and going straight into light or heavy sexual activity. I apologise for probably wording the opening comment wrong however I don't think I can change that.
And please understand what maybe might be not your fantasy could well be someone's so rather than set a negative atmosphere please do the easiest thing and not comment at all |

How would you feel if your sister, daughter or mother came home and said they had been groped unexpectedly, even a case of mistaken identity? I know I would be fuming and out for blood.
So why, why, would you even think that posting a question like this would be okay? What sort of responses were you hoping for? |

If someone can’t recognise their own partner they should definitely keep their hands to themselves. And I’m sorry that you think it’s “negative” to point out that sexual assault is never ok, it must be very upsetting for you. Maybe not as upsetting as being assaulted though. |

"In a sexual situation, love being groped and felt up!"
This what I mean. Also I secretely enjoyed it when some guys in a group of friends or whatever. They’d either squeeze my bum or touch/squeeze my boobs and kinda grope me as a joke.
Id pretend to complain but I secretely like it…

Are you talking to me? I’m stating what I would do that’s all, you started a thread and I commented.

To answer the question - yes, I’ve been groped more times than I can count, from when I was young enough that if I said how old I was this would get deleted.
No, I don’t like being non-consensually touched, and I do not fantasise about it. It’s ruined more nights out than I care to remember, and more than one job as well. |

The fact that anyone condones using someone’s body in any way without consent very much worries me, the fact that we have to explain it’s not ok is even more worrying.
This happened to me in a club and I was mortified he ran off in the dark, never figured out who it was and even in a sexual situation this is never ok until said person being touched says it’s ok to touch or actively encourages you touching them.
I thought consent was a basic. |

I have been groped a few times whilst out in public - mostly a squeeze of the bum but a few times when I have been wearing a kilt a hand has gone up underneath. I have to say the majority of the times it has been by d*unk women.
It is not fun or acceptable and I have quite happily called them out on it.

I get unexpectedly groped by her ladyship quite frequently and thoroughly enjoy it - then again she gets the same in return, it's rare that we're in the same room for any period of time without a grope or squeeze or dry hump
From strangers? That's different. It is quite simply assault though from what I've seen the reaction depends a lot on the mood of the gropee. If he or she is flattered to recieve the attention then it's somehow OK, even if the same person finds it distressing in different circumstances and from different people. Personally it has never really bothered me when it has happened. There have been a few times (mostlty in gay bars) where it has gone too far and needed a look/gesture to stop it but I tend to see it as flattering. That said, I'm aware that others will see it differently, that as a fairly large guy I'm a lot less vulnerable than others so wouldn't dream of doing it to someone else.

Can’t believe the pile-on OP is being subjected to. Several times he has said that he does not condone sexual assault, but posters keep accusing him of doing precisely that.
He asked a question. He had been given a pretty clear answer, that yes, lots of people have been unexpectedly groped over the years, most objected strongly to it, and I am the only one who appears to have enjoyed the experience, as I was lucky enough that the groper was a very attractive young lady, I was single, and I had a great night.
No, I’m not condoning random groping either.
Times change, and what was acceptable or even funny 20 years ago is now enough to land you in prison. Check out old episodes of Only Fools, and see the number of times Del buy gooses Marlene, or slaps some woman on the arse in the pub. These days he would be doing life for that. |

That's not really the point.
But yes. Being naked in a public place where kids can see (or indeed anyone can see) is illegal (although it's more technical than that). And playing while driving is dangerous.
Doesn't make groping random strangers any less assault though. |

I once had my arse slapped so hard in a nightclub that I fell forward into a crowd of other people that were standing around drinking. It didn’t half sting and if I could have identified who had done it they would have had a knee to the balls.
Not cool.
It happens to most women at some point or another OP, being fondled without permission is not arousing for most. It’s just downright scary.
And as you can see from this thread, a lot of men don’t dig it either.

Is not me condoning it or wanting to with a complete stranger or incuraging it however i bet this has happen by mistaken identity or some couples and partners not liking it.Some partners and couples like to grope each other as their passing or cleaning around the home unexpectedly.

Did I say that it is or was acceptable?
I merely pointed out that 20 years ago. Arse-slapping and goosing was seen as funny in a mainstream family comedy. People saw Del Boy as outrageous, a bit of a rascal, rather than being a sex pest. Things have clearly improved in the intervening years. |

WOW some people get so offended by everything right?
A jokey or d*unk grope is hardy the crime of the century or r@pe is it & I usually put it down to high jinks or d*unk stupidity.
The ONLY time Ive ever reacted negatively & given someone a mouthful was when some d*unk guy attempted to finger me thro my dress during a nite out & the end result was me getting punched & kicked to the ground.
If I had allowed it or pushed him away & laughed it off I would've gotten home without having to visit A&E first.
Lesson learned! |

You may be right, maybe I would have a different reaction. But I would like to think that I would read what OP had posted and answer the question rather than accusing him of condoning sexual assault, which he didn’t do.
I completely agree that there is no place for sexual assault, even though the experience I referred to was a major highlight of my first year in London.
And I completely agree and understand that unwanted attention, in its many forms, must be a complete pain in the arse for ladies, particularly on a night out. Is it ok for me or anyone else to grab or slap an arse? Absolutely not. |

Can’t imagine you will get any apologies.
Not sure what you were expecting when you asked the question, were you honestly thinking that some people would say they loved being pawed and groped by strangers?
Outside of dogging, it’s unlikely, and even then there’s is a code of green lights before you get to move from observer to participant.
I know you weren’t saying it’s ok to maul people though. |

And I completely agree and understand that unwanted attention, in its many forms, must be a complete pain in the arse for ladies, particularly on a night out. Is it ok for me or anyone else to grab or slap an arse? Absolutely not. "
I'm glad to hear this.
But the OP was worded in such a way that it implied he was excited by the thought of it. His elaboration further down the thread did not dismiss this idea of it being an illicit thrill for him. |

"Can’t believe the pile-on OP is being subjected to.
I suspect if he, and you had been subject to numerous assaults, like many women on here, you’d have the same reaction.
It does hit a nerve, do you blame us?

Exactly. And pretty much every “does anyone enjoy X” type thread is about something the OP in each case either does, or finds a turn on. So it’s hardly surprising that people would react badly to that implication. |

"WOW some people get so offended by everything right?
A jokey or d*unk grope is hardy the crime of the century or r@pe is it & I usually put it down to high jinks or d*unk stupidity.
The ONLY time Ive ever reacted negatively & given someone a mouthful was when some d*unk guy attempted to finger me thro my dress during a nite out & the end result was me getting punched & kicked to the ground.
If I had allowed it or pushed him away & laughed it off I would've gotten home without having to visit A&E first.
Lesson learned!"
What on earth? Am I reading this right? Are you saying it's hardly a crime to grope someone? |

Weirdest was when I was on a date at the cinema , you know when you turn your back to let people get past . She was with what I assumed was her boyfriend when I looked at her she winked at me , before the wink I was thinking she must have lost her balance |

Groping by a random, is horrible and demeaning. And I in my younger years have lashed out at offenders. And have embarrassed a fair few men the way they have me.
Now being groped by M at the kitchen sink or something like that totally different story. |

Your original question was very badly phrased, then when you clarified it with does anyone enjoy being groped by ‘mistaken identity or party/night out’ - that was when you implied that people might enjoy being groped on d*unken night out.
As many people have said, and as you have agreed with, sexual assault by any standard is not acceptable. It has never been acceptable and it should be called out by men and women when it happens.
Should people apologise for taken a stance on, what is for some a very personal and very emotive subject? No, they shouldn’t.
Should you expect there to be a discussion about groping/sexual assault when you phrase the question in such a way to suggest it is acceptable? Yes, I think you should.
Should we be allowed to have an adult discussion and share our points of without feeling we have to apologise or censor what we are saying. Yes, I think we should.

Of course not. I was referring more to a situation that may hav been misinterpreted by the guy or where alcohol played a big part.
Everyone acts differently when d*unk or can get carried away right?
Im sure most guys wouldnt even consider groping a complete stranger when sober as a judge.
I put such incidents down to experience & move on.

If it was out and about from a complete stranger, I'd probably tell them to fuck off.
However, if it was someone I knew (in that way) then I'd love it. In fact, I have a bit of a thing for it. Come and help yourself I say - take me by surprise and force me onto the bed while you're at it... the cuffs are already attached! |

Not so many years ago, about 5 perhaps my boss decided on the spur of the moment to slap my arse because he had some good news.
I was so stunned I just moved away from his reach and left the room. Not usually somebody who is lost for words easily but I was.
Groping, slapping arse etc... may have been acceptable in the seventies/ eighties/ nineties... but not now. Not even in a swing club. You got to have permission in my books. |

Groping someone unexpectedly is assault. I can assure you most women (and I'm sure some men) have experienced this on a varying scale of violence. Its not pleasant. Its invasive, presumptuous, out of order.. Big big no.
However, if my partner or lover does it and we're close, it's fun and can lead to more fun. |

Wow... There is never any excuse. If they get away with a jokey/dr*nk grope, who knows what that will lead to?!

Unexpected random gropers get very loudly and publicly embarrassed if possible. Less effective in busy bars and clubs.
Gropes were a regular occurrence in bars when I was younger...many men discovered just how painful a stiletto heel is on the top of their foot...
Sexual harassment/assault isn't acceptable. |

But the OP was worded in such a way that it implied he was excited by the thought of it. His elaboration further down the thread did not dismiss this idea of it being an illicit thrill for him.
Exactly. And pretty much every “does anyone enjoy X” type thread is about something the OP in each case either does, or finds a turn on. So it’s hardly surprising that people would react badly to that implication.

True. He posted an odd question, people interpreted it a certain way and he then clarified that that was not what he meant.
Only to try to redeem himself. What else was he going to say honestly? "
I HOPE YOU ARE AWARE BY WHAT YOU ARE SAYING AND IMPLYING HERE IS AN OFENENCE IN ITSELF. YOU ARE HOW OLD? |

"I love being groped by a lover.
But by strangers, no thanks.
The last time I was was at a bar on a first date. I was getting the drinks and had my ass squeazed by a stranger. Creeped me out. "
I was at a packed concert before...made my way up to the front to get a better view...there was a guy behind me that kept pushing his erect dick up against my ass...took me ages to get away from him...seems kinda funny now... But I've had worse than that as that wasn't really groping...I've been unexpectedly groped quite a few times by strangers & it's not nice...it is assault |

There's no need to SHOUT.
Nor do I think your responses in capitals are doing you any favours.
My advice? Leave alone and let the debate continue... sometimes it's good to vent. The vast majority of women have been touched inappropriately without consent, and it can be very upsetting. It makes me angry. |

"Not so many years ago, about 5 perhaps my boss decided on the spur of the moment to slap my arse because he had some good news.
I was so stunned I just moved away from his reach and left the room. Not usually somebody who is lost for words easily but I was.
Groping, slapping arse etc... may have been acceptable in the seventies/ eighties/ nineties... but not now. Not even in a swing club. You got to have permission in my books. "
Agreed. Sounds like a Carry On film, slapping someone’s arse in work. I’m picturing Sid James. |

"Yes OP, a ridiculous amount of times mostly when I was younger and grown men knew they could get away with it. It's completely unacceptable when no consent is involved. I'd give someone hell if they ever laid a finger on me these days.
I'm getting really bad vibes from your post, like you wanted some fun sexual abuse stories.
I DO NOT LIKE OR GET OFF ON THE FACT A STRANGER HAS BROKEN THE LAW AND ASSAULTED SOMEONE AND I HAVE SAID THIS ON SO MANY OCCASIONS.
HOWEVER IF ANY OF YOU HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO READ MY PROFILE IT STATES AM MARRIED AND AS A COUPLE WE GROPE EACH OTHER JUST IN GENERAL AROUND THE HOUSE WHILE PASSING OR DOING JOB'S AROUND THE HOUSE."
"what i meant by unexpected was a squeeze of the bum by someone mistaken identity or being at a party/night out"
Your words ^
No need to shout. No need to yell. No need to have a riot, shut your eyes, take a deep breath. Oh you've gone all quiet.
I don't think this was about innocent groping with your wife |
