What are your interpretations on both?
When I joined, I chose slim as I thought athletic meant more toned, muscular physiques and think I'm more slim than athletic.
Is it even something people pay attention to when they look at a profile? |

I would say you are athletic, you have good muscle definition and tone, whilst you have a flat stomach and may perceive that as slim you still have a shape that shows you work out x
I chose curvy on here for myself, there are many different definitions of this too - I think you look great OP xx |

Personally I would of put you down as Athletic as you have muscles and can see the definition on your body.
Slim in my mind is the same but without the obvious muscle tone visible. |

Check out the Olympics and Paralympics - that definition could cover pretty much anyone |

I chose athletic because I’m an athlete, I’m active and do athletic type pursuits.
Athletes come in many different sizes and shapes but all have one thing in common, they are active athletically.
That’s my definition.
As always, others will think differently.
As always, that’s up to them. |

"Slim would be skinny, with no muscle definition. Athletic would be slim but with musculature or toned. "
Yeah that sounds about right.
Athletic doesn’t mean huge, some posters may shy away fro describing themselves as athletic, thinking tin have to be ripped and big to be athletic. To me it’s a physique that is a result of full body activity and training, so pretty lean, and decent muscles. |

I think slim means u know, slim. Nice body overall but not very muscly. Like maybe just a fraction
Athletic means if you go to the gym loads so you got that fit body.
So, let me try give some celebrities’s names:
Slim :
Adam Levine
Adrien Brody
Justin bieber
Or a lot of slim models
I mean they have nice bods but they tend to be on a slim side I think when it comes to proportion
Athletic (so musclier built):
Well all the sportsman really haha

That's what I was thinking too! Slim is a fairly basic definition bit athletic can range from a marathon runner to a sumo wrestler |

"Slim would be skinny, with no muscle definition. Athletic would be slim but with musculature or toned. "
I thought the same thing but wasn't sure how toned or musculature you would need to be to change it. I suppose that's where our own interpretation of it comes into play. |

That's an interesting way of looking at it. So it's more based on what they do rather than how they look that makes them athletic |

Haha thanks, I do play a couple of sports but never thought that would mean an athletic body as darts is a sport for example and that didn't fall under my definition of athletic. Maybe it's just me only looking at appearance rather than activity haha |

Imo definitely athletic. I put average cause I don’t have the same level of toning you do. Plus I joined way before lockdown when I was a bit bigger. |

"To me athletic is someone who works out regularly, but not too bulky , slim just slim size 8/10 30-34 chest or 30-32 waist guys "
I don't think you can put specific numbers on it. Mr KC can only be described as slim (or skinny?) but his waist is 32" but chest is 38". His rib cage is broad but he hasn't got a shred of fat on him |

I'd put slim as someone who is on the smaller side without much definition to their body. But an athletic body type would be someone who works out often and is quite sporty and it shows in their body through muscle, being lean and toned etc. I'd say you're more athletic than slim OP. |

"I pondered for weeks whether to say slim or athletic, then I remembered women don’t read profiles.
I just look at the pretty pictures...looking for a Brad Pitt look alike "
If I spot anyway, I’ll let you know. |

Here is what I think the difference is.
Slim: Gareth gates
Athlete: Usain bolt
Slim, no muscle definition, athlete is someone with muscle definition and maybe a 6pack.
I have put athletic on mine.
I think there should be more categories, like there are different sayings if one have a 6pack, here are few of them, 6pack, shredded and ripped |

I’d call you athletic as you muscle tone and definition.
Can’t say I look to what people describe themselves as, I just look at the pictures
To be fair there isn’t that many options to pick from.
When we set our profile up I chose athletic for myself as I wouldn’t call myself slim although others do and going by the height to weight ratio I fall into that category, just don’t see it myself, Will calls me wirey whatever that is certainly wasn’t an option on here lol |
