ill give it a go they have been saying its coming soon since line of duty finished in the spring haha hope it lives up to the hype the adverts look good but thats what adverts are supposed to do haha |

We missed the start of both episodes so caught on on Iplayer last night and found an unexpected bonus - it’s in UHD. Makes it feel so much more real. And the Scottish scenery looks amazing but then I’m biased

As ex RN I find it realy difficult to watch. It is littered with so many innacuracies regarding the RN/Submarines my focus is 'dragged' away from the story.
Before anyone starts, yes I know it's a fictional drama, and should just be seen as such but I can't help wonder whoever they had advising them couldn't have served for long  |

I did think that! Why did she not just drive around until back up got there
Excellent scenes though.
I do find the submarine scenes beyond creepy |

Could it be that the MOD have advised on what they can and cannot portray in it in relation to Nuclear Subs, those things are steeped in secrecy aren't they? |

Fictional yes, but many will think it the norm. I find it disturbing that the MOD allowed this to be shown. Spaced out, stressed crew shagging and fighting with each other is not the Submarine Service I recognise, and nor should it be portrayed as such.
Still watching it though. |

I haven’t served on subs or even in the navy but some former colleagues did and based on their comments, i’d guess there is more space in Vigil than real life but it’s a film set so they would need to.

I would say no not at all, submarines are far more compact (that's a nice way to put it) i wouldnt go on one, and I'm not overly claustrophobic.

I think that someone saves her.
The seaman will probably end up in the tube and then the tube will shoot the seaman out but too late as the seaman has already infected everyone. |

I prefer watching things weekly, and even if a story is technically inaccurate (it's a drama not a documentary!), it's a good sign when the weeks pass swiftly. |

Next scene will see the water draining out and one of the officers pulling her out of the tube. I can’t see them killing her off, which is unfortunate as lead characters don’t die too often.
But in this series I think you could carry on with the other characters coming to the fore a bit more.
That could also lead to another season |
