If you could know your future, would you want to find out?

No one knows what the future holds for any of us.
Some people believe in fate.
Some believe that our future is already mapped out.
Some believe that we have control of our own destinies.
If you could find out your future, would you want to find out? Or are you enjoying the journey too much to care? |

My future is not predetermined by one path, so no.
I like the freedom to drop everything and take a life curve ball and go on a different path, this year is college for me and a new career
I like unpredictability it's more fun |

No, because I would then worry.
I’d prefer to just live my life as best I can, as happily as I can in ignorance, rather than feeling I should be doing this, that or the other to make the most out of my life.

Heck no, then you'd be working to a list and waiting for things to happen.
On the other hand, a close friend of mine has two friends currently slowly dieing of cancer, one with a young family. I wonder what their answers would be. |

It would you worry less knowing that regardless of what you did your future would still be as it is? |

"Ooo what if you could change it, by having knowledge... Ooo like the butterfly effect... Although what you really want is to know that THIS version us the best and the rest are even worse
"
It is a dilemma.
You work really hard, be the best person you can be, etc but then your future is a shitty one though no fault of your own. Would you make the effort now? |

But what if you knew the alternative path meant you didn't have your kid, or you had something awful happen etc etc... Oh man this is too brain intensive for the morning |

"No I don't want to know my future. The good stuff comes as a lovely surprise and the bad stuff is best not worried about until it happens imo"
This is so true |

I would t want to know my whole future but would certainly want to know about any major illnesses so they could be nipped in the bud before things get out of hand |

"How long will my car last before I have to get another one "
That's easy to predict, my crystal ball tells me - It will last until ten minutes before you really, really need to get somewhere. It will also be pouring with rain, you will have no cost or umbrella and your shoes will have a hole in them. |

If you are wanting to know this I would suggest you already have doubts so change it soon |

"At what age will I die so that I can cash everything in and go do all the crazy shit I've ever thought of and blow every last penny before I pop my clogs
"
This is a great way of looking at it |

If we could see our future it then wouldn't be our future anymore as we'd make different decisions that would change future events.
It is very likely that DNA profiling will give us much more knowledge about future health outcomes and I would like to know these, as it may be possible to affect them in a positive way with lifestyle changes. |

If we all had access to knowledge about our future, then we could all simply change paths. So, in essence, it's not knowing a future per se, but a possible timeline |
