So how far are people willing to travel for a meet? What’s your cut off?
It seems one of those sticking points which prevents a meet in some cases.
Do you like the idea of venturing somewhere new or do you like to keep it close to home?
Just curious is all….

Depends where the meet was.
Manchester for example is 30 miles away yet I could spend an hour stuck in traffic trying to get into Manchester.
Somewhere on the outskirts no problem.
I would spend 90 minutes tops travelling.
I have a lady friend in Blackpool and she is totally worth the drive |

A good positive outlook on meets....I like it |

We flit between Southampton and Manchester at times.
We had a meet in Manchester a few times with a guy (through our previous profile) and he once made his way to Southampton to visit us for a meet.
Yes, we're that good |

It’s never been an issue for me in the slightest. It’s part of the build up to an exciting weekend of fun. The playlist in the car, the stop offs and visiting somewhere new and exciting… having your own local guide to take you to cool amazing places. If you’re lucky enough OP to meet a lovely forum girl and you hit it off don’t let distance be a factor.. take your time and plan a great escape together |

Distance is not a factor. Time, opportunity and effort are all it needs. Sadly, for some, time and opportunity can be so restrictive, they make distance the issue. |

I love the idea of travelling for a meet to somewhere new, I enjoy staying somewhere nice, a road or train trip... as long as I feel like my effort is being matched, even if not necessarily in terms of distance.
I'd probably travel a few hours away max nowadays (unless it was to Aberdeen) but that's more than far enough to meet people. |

We wouldn't travel a huge distance just for a meet, but if we could easily make a weekend of it, see the sites etc... then anywhere is fine. If the meet is a no-show or we don't click, then nothing is lost.

Went through a phase a few years ago of travelling up to 100 miles, two no shows, one at 90 miles and one at 70 miles made me have a rethink.
Now no more than 30 miles, primarily as I get older my comfort zone shrinks and my love of driving diminishes. |

I've driven for nearly 3 hours in the evening for a meet, stayed overnight and woke up really early in the morning so I can drive back in time for work. We had a fun night and would love to have stayed longer but it was the only free time we had together. Most of my meets are quite a distance away anyway.. just can't seem to attract anyone local to me for some reason lol but I don't mind, as mentioned in the posts above, who doesn't love visiting New places |

I have done and am happy to travel all over to meet someone who I have built up a good connection with. In fact most of my meets have involved travel. I enjoy getting away for a night or two. |

1 hour each way, so about 40 miles max. I know that's a lot further than some people who want it on their doorstep, maybe literally. The way I see it is, if it is potentially a great experience I'm happy to go the extra few miles. |

I find a long distance difficult. I ideally like to meet for a social first and my own insecurities assume I'm not good enough for someone to travel miles and miles even meeting in the middle. But that's completely my problem.
Also with a young family and weird shift patterns I couldn't take a whole weekend away.
It's a hard one, I always think how far is too far and I haven't come up with an answer yet helpful aren't I

I’m not into travelling. I prefer to meet socially and get to know someone before it gets to that point. Then if it does become more I don’t want it once. So generally distance wouldn’t work for me. |

Distance matters a lot to us because we don't have whole days, nights or weekends to devote to this. Given that we can't travel far, we don't meet people who'd need to travel from miles away. It's not fair and in our experience, just adds pressure and expectation to any meetings which is not what we want. For this reason we restrict ourselves to guys who can accommodate us in hotels fairly close to where we live and that works well for us.

its about time for me my free time is limited to work.
Not to say I won't make the effort to travel for the right people I have to meet them more than once to establish trust.
Within my city is ideal |

Normally id like to keep it local 20-40 miles but once travelled to a couple in York which was over 100 miles away lol . Was well worth it though . I think if you want to meet bad enough the travel shouldnt be an issue . |

I used to say an hour, but I'm more confident with driving distances now.
So for the right person I don't think it matters, I'd just treat it like a nice mini break and get to see more of the country. |

Yeah, an hour isn't too bad (especially if you are staying over)
A get to be out of the house and chill to my music for a bit.
It's nice. |

I’d travel anywhere at any distance tbf, providing there was communications and connection before setting off
I’d be revved off travelling abroad or over 50-100miles to be ghosted or let down |

You know for me it would depend on the person.
As I'm into getting to know them first I would travel for the right person....
I go to Scotland several times a year to see a friend and in in Gloucestershire. |
