Perfectly normal.

My libido has been MIA for over a year now.

If anything the thought of sex these days makes me anxious!

Okehampton

I drink wine, sit on the back porch, ruffle the horses mane and say. “Well old friend, that another day eh?” He looks at me as if to say “I’m a horse mate, no idea what you are saying” and then i say. “Meh you are a horse, I probably need to get out more” and he looks at me as if to say “either get the polos out or I’m offski” and I say “here mate have a polo, I’ll get more wine”

And somehow, in this madness I don’t fall over, emotionally or physically, and the world carries on.

I use the gym as de-stress down time - it works really well

I swim 4 nights a week and weekends. During my 40 odd lengths I leave all my stress in the pool

For me I have to just take time to myself!

Listening to my music is my escape, long walks, peace and quiet, also remember to just take one day at at a time, don’t set yourself too much for one day.

Sometimes being awake and breathing is enough!!

Don’t bottle stuff up, don’t be alone and don’t over think! You aren’t alone even when you feel you are!

Find an activity that totally takes your mind off things , even if it’s only half an hour it makes a difference.

Yes to your second question , stress along with depression totally kills your sex drive and that’s normal .

1. Exercise & meditate for 10 minutes a day (concentrating on breathing in and out for 10 minutes is harder than it seems!).

2. Yes, very normal for some people

Meditation. It’s brilliant

I was very sceptical at first but now find it great for relaxing and positive thinking. The Calm app is great

1. Exercise is a great way to help with stress. Try and get a 30 min walk in each day. No mucus or distraction. Listen to your thoughts and find what is stressing you the most and so yourself an action plan for one thing before you do fish your walk.

2. Yes it’s perfectly normal to lose all sexual appetite during times of stress. It will return once the stress goes. Don’t stress over this OP

Some of the stuff I do to manage it, like staying away from everything, meditation but not so regular and exercises.

Thank you so much for all those useful advises and kind words!

Long walks with music or just dancing around the house.

Breathing is key. Sounds simple but so effective

Dont know if you smoke, or ever did, but the comments above about breathing are gold dust.

More specifically, when you are feeling it bite, breathe in as far as you can (like just you've just taken a big drag on a cig) and release slowly and very deliberately until there is nothing left in your lungs.

You'll be surprised how much of an endorphine rush you get... it is called diaphragmatic breathing.

Check out: healthblog.uofmhealth.org/lifestyle/an-easy-way-to-beat-stress-and-build-a-healthier-life

I gave up smoking 15 years ago, and missed it until the second a friend told me about this...

Haven't look back since.

Also, if the stress levels are (at least partially) aggravated by heart rate fluctuations/racing, you may also find a low level beta blocker like propranalol helps to smooth things out and (as my doc put it), give you just that little injection of "dont give a shit" to get you through... (really - speak to your doc! They hear it 30 times a day and they CAN help).

Take it easy buddy - the best thing of course is to deal with the source of stress.

Try slow walking in a forest

And, be kind to yourself... you don't really have to do it all. Listen to yourself and what you need.

Search YouTube for the following video 'relax and breathe: do nothing for 10 minutes'

You can use the visual graphic cue to guide your breathing and develop your technique

Probably covered by others, but you need to find the source of your stress-job related etc

My previous job stressed me out big time, so much so I started losing hair. Change of job has resulted in lower stress levels..just waiting for my hair to grow back.. haha

It is essentially a job related but to be honest I can't leave or change this job...

Thank you all of you for your care and concern.

I always find doing some sort of physical exercise, running, bike ride, boxing and really go all out puts the mind and body into a really relaxing state
