I've flown to Scotland twice.

My last regular play partner was a 400 mile (9 hrs in all, on average )round trip away.

Yes, was in the army and had gotten chatting to a couple online via a site for lovers of uniformed type men. I drove there, made a holiday of it, lots of fun on way, no fun 'fun' when I got there, but enjoyed myself lol xx
