Hi all
A friend sent me one of those terribly amusing "20 things that people buy when they are having a midlife crisis" images earlier in facebook, and it occurred to me that at some point in the last 30 years I'd bought or rented 13 of them...
I just couldn't afford the others!
So... my question is this:
Money no object, what cool things would you (or did you) buy to help regain that lost youth?

"I bought a wheelchair. If money were no object, I'd have a custom fit day chair; custom fit basketball chair and custom fit racing chair all made for me. That's probably a good £10k there.... "
That's an awesome set of chairs! And money is no object here at least... probably going to need some kind of custom garage too |

I think I'll need a trailer to transport them too! |

"I would buy a 1965 Ford Thunderbird and travel route 66"
Nice choice! At over 2200 miles long I'd recommend taking a sexy mechanic with you in the passenger seat if you're planning to do the whole thing! |

Fair do's - and a tow vehicle as well I should imagine... nice new range rover? |

Oh no, not a Range Rover *shudders* If you're offering, something with decent boot space, either automatic or flappy paddle gear shift, suitable for the family as well as towing and putting gig equipment in (not necessarily at the same time). My 1.5 turbo diesel probably won't do so well with towing |

"Around the World ticket, first stop off would be Japan. Then the rest of Asia …all of it. Knowing me I’ll probably stay and eventually get to see some of the rest of the World. Maybe Africa next "
That does sound awesome - Could take a while! |

Braver man than me! I've no head for heights at all... I'd have been thinking that on takeoff |

"Im going to buy a boat. And try not to sink it.
Lovely - motorboat or sail?"
A little chugging old fishing boat type with an engine. Dont want to get stuck in the doldrums |

"A dog. Was never allowed one as a kid and for the brief few years I owned a house my ex never wanted one. So I guess a house as well.
Do you have any particular type of dog in mind?"
Balls! I forgot to quote. See above |

Nice choice - and yes... I speak from pained experience that sailing is too much like hard work... definitely best to chug along with the kettle on! |

Yes, and yes! Both excellent choices! Spa somewhere far far away? There are some amazing hot springs in Japan I believe... |

Bloody idiot in my army days I did all the training because I could and it was easy. First time out the plane I thought “what the **** are you doing”
Spent the next two plus years hating every jump until I could move on to my next stupid decision |

I streaked my hair blonde, had an eye and nipple piercing and my first tattoo all within a couple of months at 40. It wasn't until a few years later that I realised that on that age I was older than my father who died at 39 from cancer. Go for it.... |

"A boxer or Springer spaniel if a puppy, but I would more than likely go to the rescue centre and let one pick me.
I love this - definitely the rescue centre! "
North West Springer spaniel rescue centre Warrington. You will find what you're looking for there. |

"Travel around the world to theme parks and enjoy the rides "
Or be terrified out of your mind by the rides - you'll need the VIP pass as well though, or you'll spend most of the rest of your life in the queues! |

"I’d definitely go storm chasing in America, and also fly around the world to go on every one of the biggest roller coasters! OMG that would be a dream! Miss Pc "
If storms are your thing, check out South America too... Lake Catatumbo in Venezuela gets massive electrical storms 300 days a year! |

Build a time machine, remember the people who were nice to me, go back in time, back to school, get qualified and do what I wanted to do. |

" My mid life crisis already happened. I started swinging.
It's hard for me to imagine now what I would have done then with money because my perspective has changed so much.
Maybe plastic surgery. Lipo. Gastric band. Give an extra inch to little arrow |

I'd love a vintage motorcycle. I've never even ridden one (only pillion) but I just love bikes from the 1940s/50s. Promised myself if I lose my weight I'd buy one but I'd probably be dead within a week lol. |

An NSR500 race bike, just for nipping up to head office on.
A Sea Harrier, then learn how to fly it.
An old RN mine sweeper, convert it to a personal yacht.
Once I have mastered fixed wing, by a Gazelle helicopter and master that. |
