I love em they see old friends they may not of seen for months then the first thing they talk about is Marie down the road passed away she was a good age 90 you know then the next conversation is there ailments then when that is covered its time to get off there parting shot is I'm just going out for a few bits what could those bits be |

I think 'bits' is just shopping. Elderly people don't tend to do big weekly shops. They buy smaller amounts from different shops,'bits'. They are more likely to buy from smaller traders, greengrocers, butchers, having a more personal service and a chat. |

Ah but in my area the machines click over to accept them at 09.25 . Let's face it without them a lot of routes, especially rural routes, would cease to exist. |
