"I don't think I've ever been to Greggs . I love a swiss bun so if they sell them I'd buy one " I was just trying to think if I had ever been to Gregg's. I may have when I was a teenager, but it wasn't memorable enough to remember
"The sausage rolls are very very very poor at Gregg's! Almost tasteless and greasy " Agreed, they're terrible and overpriced probably just grab a sandwich, Greggs is a last resort for me

"Yes. They're so terrible they're in every town centre and terribly profitable " That does not equate to quality. Folk will eat owt if it’s cheap, readily available, and there isn’t a better alternative available to hand.

"have a real baker around the corner, good value and always fresh, been there for years family owned, why would i go to a chain instead?" Well, we can’t make a forum about your independent baker, which probably is really great. And ask everyone what their favourite item is that they sell can we?

Well, we can’t make a forum about your independent baker, which probably is really great. And ask everyone what their favourite item is that they sell can we? " we cant, but im sure every town has one, and better to suport them than a chain isnt it, it will be a sad place if they all go bust because lets face it, they will never be able to compeat on price, but i would rather spend a little more and keep an already city alive. Problem with big chains is that if we all use them and all the small shops go bust, all youve got left is the chains, and do you think they will still be cheap then? sorry rant over, but weve lost so many local shops etc recently, covid hasnt helped, but it seems like a race to the bottom, and none of us want that. I get that shops like gregs offer cheap food and repeatability that a local cant match, but like i said what happens when they have a monopaly, its like amazon, they are killing of shops left right and centre, and yes i do use them as lets face it they are conveniant, but try to by local when i can, i used to run a small buisness and a big player moved nrby and i couldnt compeat so closed, now when i meet my old customers all they do is moan about how bad the service is at the big chain and how expensive they have got, and wish i was still there, i never point out that if they had carried on using me and paying not alot more, then i would still be there, and that was many years ago
