"Is it just me or have chocolate bars shrank once again.
Had a wisper today and i am sure it was smaller than the last time i had one."
They used to be 100g for a bar - now 85 or something like that.
Not just chocolate I m afraid. it is introducing price rises through the backdoor. |

Noticed this the other day. There's a chocolate bar I regularly use for baking, it's always been a 100g bar but noticed the other day it felt thinner and when I checked it is now only 90g but still the same price

It’s that tough choice of a manufacturer. Do you increase prices because the price of raw materials have increased. Or do you make it smaller because smaller keeps the price lower for the consumer.
And to boot……you have to please not just the end user but the supermarkets If you don’t meet their approval. |

They do make chocolate bars smaller over time. Apparently customers don't like prices going up with inflation, so they make the bars smaller and keep the price steady.
One would imagine fun-size Mars bars were invented during a period of hyper-inflation. |
