Thinking of things that irk me:
People who say "The Beatles are the most overrated band ever". Really fucking winds me up.
Ok so maybe you might not be able to recognise that music was very different prior to the Beatles or see that the Beatles influenced the roots of the heavy metal scene of the 70s or realise that they brought psychedelia into the mainstream more than anyone else highlighting to major labels that experimental could pay. Maybe that's all old stuff and that don't impress you much.
However: surely EVERYONE can see that 11 critically acclaimed studio albums of original material (12 if you include Magical Mystery Tour in the USA) in 8 years is a stupendous achievement?

Even if you're not a fan you cannot erase music history. We are still using Beatles songs in our school singing assemblies. |

Agreed. People are entitled to their opinion on music and it might not be their taste but the Beatles impact on music is evident.
A friend of mine who was in his teens during the sixties is quite vocal of their impact.
I won't say I'm a massive fan but there's a lot of there songs I like. |
