A nice walk

Yesterday, for the first time in ages, I went for a nice walk. I covered about seven and a half miles, and I went at first light so I had a lovely couple of hours to myself before running into any other humans.

I also met a very nice dog, who immediately recognised me for a Dog Person and decided I was their New Best Friend.

When was the last time you went for a nice walk? How far did you go? Did you meet any lovely animals?

I walk at least 5 miles every day, normally leaving the house between half 5 and 6.

It's a lovely time of day to walk.

I see a few dog walkers out and regularly get jumped on by one dog!

Me and Ginge also walk on a Sunday morning together.

Love a peaceful walk, particularly after work - it's a lovely way to unwind.

Mrs M walks 5 miles twice a day, every day, regardless of the weather.

She meets a lovely dog each time she goes our as she takes ours with her.

On her morning walk, she will also collect his friend from a local farm and take him along too.

I walk every weekend- between 5 and 10 miles in various places. I’ve met lots of different animals including horses, goats and llamas. I love dogs and always make a fuss (with owner’s permission) if I see one. I have an hour (at least) commute to work in the week (each way).so it’s good to get out and stretch my kegs when I can. I find walking a big stress relief and I love the countryside.

Walking is the best, and I’d be totally lost without it. Agree about the stress relief.

We go for a walk most weekends. Lucky enough to live in an area with a diversity of walks such as the beach, country parks or river banks. Never get the areas to ourselves though regardless of time we set off.

I walk miles daily with my dogs. See all types of people and other dogs on our travels.

I went for another walk this morning! Covered about twelve and a half miles – furthest I've walked since I was a teenager.

There were many dogs!

Slight complaint: Because I live in a city centre, I have to slog through miles of boring suburbs to get to the good bits.

The right place

I try to get out for a good walk in the mountains most weeks. Plus some shorter walks from home in between. It’s my happy place.

Love a nice walk. My dogs take me everyday. Best time is 5:30/6am, sunrise, peace and quiet.

I try to get out at least three times a week for at least three miles or more.

One of my favourite walks is from the Pleasure Beach in Blackpool to Fleetwood and back again. That takes most of the day to do and I do ache the next day. Off for a week next week so looking to do the same or go to Lytham st Anne’s from the Windmill to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and back again. Yet again another lovely costal walk.

On my usual seafront walk usually meet a few dogs with owners. A few cats if walking inland.

Somewhere near here

I walk a lot, covered 405 miles of just walking so far this year, not at all shabby considering I was pregnant for most of it. Haven’t been out yet today, probably will do 3 miles this evening, got a 13 mile one planned for tomorrow

I went for another walk on Friday morning. Took a packed lunch with me and everything this time. On this occasion I covered 18.68 miles (a shade over 30km, for anyone who thinks in metric), which I believe is the furthest I've ever walked in one go.

This time I saw dogs, horses, a dozen different species of birds, a deer, two alpacas, and even an emu.

This weekend I covered another 16.56 miles (26.65km). It’s good to get out and about, but I managed to get terribly sunburned even though it was overcast. Ugh.

Usually walk along seafront and pier for a coffee most mornings. Usually meet a dog or two. If in town near houses...cats. Always try and make friends.
