So If you was chatting with someone on here and they say that can't accommodate due to living with parents at what age would you think nah that's a little weird? Or are people less judgmental than I think ??

People live with their parents for lots of different reasons. It's a fair-enough reason for us. We don't accommodate because we have young children and an older teen at home.

I live at home, why would I move out ? House prices and rentals are so expensive in Devon.

I'd much rather still live at home and save as much money as I can before there becomes an essential need for me to move out..

My son lives with me but has a lot of issues especially after his gran passed away in June so there may be extenuating circumstances.

My son is nearly 29 and lives with me. He will be here for many years due to his additional support needs. People should never judge others without knowing the full story.

Just to make it clear, I'm not judging, I am the one being judged, they didn't have a problem with me not being able to accommodate until they asked why

I get that the other way around. I can't host because my son's 25,30 are still here at present.

Well I'm a "bit" older than you and one of my parents lives with us. That's the reason I can't. I wouldn't judge based on that everyone's circumstances are different

When I met my partner he said he couldn't accommodate as he house shared with a couple. Which strictly speaking was true. It was a few months before I realised it was his parents !

Bugger them, your circumstances are not their business...

I encouraged my boys to live at home for as long as possible and both know that this is a place they can always come back too regardless of age.

My youngest moved back from Edinburgh to work from home when his offices closed. He has been here for over a year and not due back until January...

Let people judge all they like, their opinions don't matter

Don’t sweat it.

Just don’t tell them you live with your parents. They don’t need to know, it’s of no negative consequence to literally anyone and your reasons for doing so are your own/nobody else’s business.

I lived at home with my folks 27-31 as I came back from abroad as my Dad was unwell. I got sick of explaining to judgemental/nosey people so just starting saying it was a house share.
