You’re Chesterfield right? Drive or cycle out into the peak, take a walk up somewhere like Burbage and soak up the scenery. Always works for me. Particular now as these next couple of weeks are the best of the year with the moorland turning bright purple because of the flowering heather.

What’s causing you to feel down? Hope you don’t mind me asking. Just thought maybe someone on here may be able to provide a good resolution with a little more insight? |

Sorry but my opinion is ignore this and get help.
First place to start is Campaign Against Living Miserably. Ita a fantastic platform to start a self help journey.
If you've come onto a forum here that means "to my meagre opinion" you are reaching out for help in a place you trust. That is first step and I applaud it but here is not the signposting service so give CALM a look. |

Agree... but even prior to this, try just getting outside and try to see it for what it is watch the clouds, feel the air in your lungs and try grounding... just taking a step back for a moment and letting everything else go by but taking in your surroundings and properly looking, life races by and its easy not to see |

"Why not a trip to Syria or Yemen or Afghanistan I wonder what they do when they are down ? People should get a grip and realise how lucky they are "
That's not helpful. Just because there is conflict in other countries, does not mean we are not allowed to be down or depressed in this country...

You might want to contact tech support. Your "scroll on by" button seems to be broken. Either that or your intolerance levels aren't suited to public forums |

Fresh air, listen to birdsong, walk barefoot on the grass, connect with nature. |

Everyone’s issues are valid to them, saying others have it worse is one of the most useless phrases, and completely invalidates how someone is feeling.
Op - has something happening to trigger it?
Is it a feeling you’ve had before?
Agree with the idea of getting out and walking, exercise and the outdoors are great for mental health.
Do you have any support?
Sorry you’re feeling down. |

I've been down for much longer than a week, and am feeling really despondent about fab, and other, more important things so I could really do with some cheering up myself!
There are always people worse off though so remember that.
Hopefully you won't feel down for as long as I have!

Telling people to "get a grip" is incredibly unhelpful. Mental health doesn't work like that. I've been depressed since I was 12 or 13 so I should know.
It's a shame some still have this attitude. |

Very true, completely agree. I’m shocked and appalled at some of the comments on here. It’s those views that allow mental illness to run rampant |

Definitely, it’s a horrible way to treat someone. Mental illness is no joke! The only joke is some of the comments on here to someone who has taken a brave step to reach out for help and then only had some idiot dismisses it and treats it like nothing |

When I feel low I put on my Gaurdians of the Galaxy soundtrack and have a dance and a sing, never fails
