I have had a chat with a few men about this. Apparently women are to blame for setting their age range too young. They have said once they reached 51 they can't contact most females, so shave some years off! |

We got invited to a party back when we first started 8 years ago where all the other guests were long terms friends and we were the fresh meat as it were. It was like arriving at a care home we would guess from the look of them not one of them was below the age of 65. We made our excuses after an hour of being sociable and left. Next morning we watched as the hosts received all the verifications and were shocked to discover according to fab we were the oldest one there. Our ages were 43 & 49 at the time. |

Absolutely agree! 100% too many do this! We have an age range as that’s our preference and nothing worse than a bunch of people lying regardless of the reason |

It’s funny how so many men’s ages have been recorded on their profiles “in error” and in actual fact, their real age fits the females age preference. They’ve contacted admin about it and everything *eye roll |

What if most people lie about their age though, shouldn't we all just set our filters to three years younger than we really want in order to compensate? Orrrrrr maybe we could just let folk do as they wish and adjust our own expectations that the entire human race should share our own values? |

I’ve noticed that when I see girls who went to my school on social media. Some look like they were the teachers, not a fellow pupil! Everyone ages differently. |

There's a vegan lady whose videos i find interesting on youtube that looks like she's in her late 20s, though she's actually well into her 70s. ..I think it's partly genetic, but probably / mainly clean living. |

I guess the alternative is applying very heavy smoothing filters to all your pics. |

Don't get it myself. But I generally don't filter for age and love it when suprised... I've learnt I have no eye for age (or am easily trucked by ohotosho and filters)
I also have no concept of inches either apparently.
Or what straight means.
It's a fab twighlight zone thing. |

I do not understand why male or females do it. If then meet in person. Should be obvious to most that different age to profile. Yes some may look younger than actual age. I have been told that, but not say a lot of years. Or nor so much men. Post photos from a lot younger years? |

I can understand the temptation to, particularly as a younger man who falls outside alot of age preference ranges. However, I do understand that maturity is a big thing on this site and that's something not often associated with young men and you have to draw the line somewhere.
Personally I have not and will not lie about my age because 1) that would be hypocritical of what I've said above and 2) I don't like to be disingenuous...makes for a bad meet if I feel guilty in any way |

Mines is the right age
Probably could get away with saying I am in my mid to late 20 like 26-28 but I don’t
Only going with what I been told not shour if it’s smoke blowing or not
Can’t see why it be smoke blowing after the deeds been done but still could be
Hooked up with couple off randoms at clubs and such and afterwards
They say didn’t think a someone in they 20s would be interested in me in my 40s or 30s they shocked when I come out as say I am in my 30s well at the time 30-31 they like I thought you were about 25-26 |

There's a guy on here that is younger now than he was when I first joined in 2011
I recommended he changed his profile name to Benjamin Button
That didn't go down well |

We have our correct ages on our profile, but have noticed that a lot of women don’t use their real age! They do tend to tell us quite quickly tho to be fair once we’ve started chatting. We understand that a lot do it to protect their identity from what we’ve been told, and that’s absolutely fine! Miss PC |

Age range preferences are for fab ages, they've already been adjusted to take into account all of the dodgers who have shaved years off. I was once one of the youngest on fab but soon realised that some were quite a bit older than they said, so I reduced my looking for downwards, as all the 99 years old lot were getting on for 200. |

And what about those who haven't had a hard paper round, and don't look their age? If I physically look better than some a fraction of my age (and I'm being factual here not egotistical), am physically fitter, and (arguably) maturer too, am I not at a disadvantage on account of dumb chronology? I respect women's wishes in terms of the upper age limits they set, but my main observation in that regard is really why set a round number like 50? It's a bit like setting your alarm for 7.30am instead of 7.33am. We all like round numbers, but is it sensible. That said, I appreciate that it is a buyer's market and the ladies can do what they want. For the record, my stated age is accurate, and if I fall off some people's radar, so be it. There are other fish in the sea |

My age and location in my profile aren’t true although I’d debate a Magical Realm might be an apt description of where I live.
My age differs by a few years but that was to avoid someone I saw here. Now, I can’t change it back to my true age but it doesn’t seem to affect who and how people interact with me. |

"I do not understand why male or females do it."
A lot of people do it to fit the age ranges of people they are interested in meeting, simple.
The real issue though with age filters is they are hard and factual, whereas the ageing process isn’t. A line up of men and women aged 60 will show you lots of different people for whom the ageing process has yielded different results. Some will look much younger, and others much older than their actual age. It’s fuzzy! Age filters are not.
An upper age of 50 means Kylie Minogue, Liz Hurly, George Cloony and Brad Pitt are out of bounds. |

I'm neither young nor old
Some days I feel old lol often told I look younger than my years but, only see is it as a number... I'm not age discriminate and see no point in falsifying my age here... I am what I am |
