Avoiding a ticket by a 'favour'

Someone mentioned traffic wardens in another post, which lead me to wonder:

Has anyone been let off a fine/ticket by using 'favours' or 'charm'?

Yes. I was about to be given a parking ticket in Cardiff. I got chatting to the attendant, flirted, played dumb and he kindly let it go

Not "favours" but I did gett away with going through a red light when I told the police that pulled me over I had accidently hit the accelerator instead of the brake due to "my new shoes" .... Oh and shedding a few tears...

I think they just thought I was mental

I avoided being disqualified from driving by being honest, still received 3 points and a 60 GBP fine though, for which I was very grateful!
