Sheffield

I had a Saturday morning meet with a fb which had me scurrying round the house naked with the vac and duster before he arrived (Saturday is my usual cleaning day, we arranged while I was still in bed).

I mentioned this to him and it was clear that as long as me and the bed had been clean he wouldn't have been bothered about the rest.

So what preparations/cleaning do you do before a meet?

And what would be the minimum you expect?

I will fess up to dumping the laundry in the spare room and I didn't dust the living room throughly (on the basis that we wouldn't be in there much ). But I did clean the bathroom and kitchen properly.

I know, I know, we wouldn't be spending time in the kitchen either, but I can't have people in the house with an unclean kitchen.

OMG!!!! I have ocd and I never knew!

I don't accom - and yes it's because i'm a slob who can't be arsed to ever tidy up! (not really!!)

Aside from hotel meets - where at the end of the day if it's not clean when I check in i'm switching rooms - if i'm visiting someone's house - at the end of the day i'm a guest, and so long as it doesn't look like the set of shameless what right do I have to criticise?

So long as the bed is clean, the bathroom doesn't have a plughole blocked with hair (from anywhere!!) and if we're socialising in the lounge it's not full of full ashtrays, half full glasses of whatever, empty pizza boxes and childrens toys scattered all over that you riun the risk of breaking your ankle on - I'm way more bothered by the cleanliness and quality of my company!

See that was the vibe I got from him! Though I didn't have matchmakers...

But he did find something to snack on

I dust everywhere and I sweep / hoover and mop my floors every day if I'm at home, obviously I don't do it the days I am away with work... I clean my kitchen anytime I use it, and wash dishes as soon as I'm finished with them and I clean my bathroom daily too.... So really the only thing I do when I have a meet arranged at home is fresh bed sheets....

I'm a bit ocd when it comes to cleaning my house lol

I always have a good clean up or fettle... and for the visiting lady I always leave a clean towel, scunchie and shower gel on the bed for them if they want to freshen up after

I no longer accommodate at home as I cannot be arsed to tidy the house, no joke.

Hence I go to the Travelodge down the road from home.

However, if I like the gent enough to want to cook for him, then I would tidy the house in order to invite him round.

Don't you know scrunchies are so last century!

Would expect a metrosexual like you to be au fait with sex and the city.

Just nick the shower caps from hotels like the rest of us do!

My place is always clean, don't understand why people would want to live in a mess. If you use it, put it away.

I don't accommodate but it is certainly not because my flat is messy/dirty

I'm clean - I couldn't live with an unclean bathroom or kitchen, but I do have long-haired cats and a tendency towards untidyness. So Saturday is my usual proper cleaning day when I move stuff to vac and mop and bleach things instead of a quick once over.

I live alone. My house is always a mess. I work long hours and tidy stuff away when I feel like it.

I guess if I was home all day I might pride myself on being tidy. That day will come when I retire. Mind you i'll probably be too busy after retiring to be fascinated with tidiness.

I said Messy not dirty. The only dirty thing here is me.

I'm a bone idle bitch when it comes to tidying the house...if I accomodate then there's clean bedlinen, the bathroom is always clean and if you don't want cat hair on your clothes (assuming they stay on long), then don't sit on my sofas...oh and expect Cattus Interuptus as the bed belongs to the cats, I am generally allowed a small part of it and usually at least one of them will jump up to see what mam's getting upto on their bed

Wish I could take that approach - my heritage requires that the house is clean and tidy. Having said that I would not bring people back to the house unless I knew them well

A man noticing dust is rare unless he is right next to it and paying attention.

Although I would never want to be in a house/flat that isn't clean. Don't mind if they are messy but hygiene and cleanliness goes a long way.
