Hello all. Bit of a strange one but hey. Just wondered if anyone was into their fishing? I'm currently out on the river for the first time in a while. As you can tell by me posting on here it is not going well...

Haven't been 'proper' fishing in years, but currently on the Welsh coast and have been chucking a few feathers - to no avail, but they call it "fishing" not "catching"!

Sea fishing for me. Recently started spinning to see what it’s like and for a quick outing here and there.

Would love to find some local people that also fish.

Aside from the all the jokes and puns filling the thread, thanks for starting this OP

Compliments?

I've fished in Finland in the see and caught Pike - we ate what we caught but I didn't like it very much even though it was smoked. Hope you catch something OP.

I couldn't think of anything i'd sooner be doing love being out on a lake, i can disappear for weeks at a time with some planning just call in home every now and then in between lakes.been doing over 40 years, so i'm able to get on some of the more exclusive lakes, prices have gone crazy, i can keep one ticket these days gives me access to a few different waters. you are lucky to get on a waiting list for a ticket these days.

I call certain styles of carp fishing static fly fishing, pisses the carp anglers off, carp angling really is the love* child of all other disciplines and tackle, it's all i do for the past 20 years or so, bit of sea fishing when on hols.

I have been fishing from age about 5. Rivers first with brother . ( he was 18 years older) . Then progressed to match fishing as junior . Carp fishing , bailiff and head bailiff for venue that was owned by perhaps biggest well known carp / course fishing venues in south. Sea fishing also. Which do now . But I live distance from coast. As others have said . Get away from everyday work etc , unwind , fresh air and yes if lucky catch fish

Yes I can Imagine that on light gear, similar experience catching plaice from a estuary thou with a strong current

behind them 14oz to 1lb fish on the end of a no.4 mustard & kendal hook and split cane rod used mainly for course fishing how many still use these lots of good memorys there.
