Mom is very Americanised. My son watches far too much YouTube and all I hear about is yard sales, garaaaage sales, taking the trash out, how many dollars I made today......STOP IT....we're Scottish!

Are we talking single mums or attached mums

They should not be judged and treated equally but I hear them called separate titles which annoys me

I have a silly nickname for my mum. I tend to only say mum if I'm out in public with her or annoyed with her.

We have an... .interesting relationship to say the least haha. We're very open with one another and she's not your stereotypical mum.

She's happy enough for me to swear as much as I like and she doesn't hold back herself. She has more interesting hair than me and isn't a mumsy type. She will definitely grow old disgracefully.

Mother.

Never, EVER Mum. She hates it with a passion. I'd be disinherited if I called her "Mum".

I rarely use the word "Mum" when talking about friend's mother's either. It's always "How is your Mother?"

With regards to my own Mother, it makes it very difficult to find Mother's Day cards with "Mother" on them, to the extent I make my own now.
