A kink is something sexual outside of normative sexual practices. In this definition what is or isn't a kink can change over time ie 50 years ago anal could've been seen as 'kinky' whereas now it isn't (although some people may still see it as a kink).
In relation to fetish a kink is something which is preferred to happen or be present during sex but is not essential to arousal.
The word kink could be losing some of it's meaning though and has a risk of becoming a banal word which shows to indicate someone thinks they are being edgy/daring. |

This is so true, everyone has a different definition of kink. A lot of things in Bdsm can be like that, it's always best to discuss in depth what something means to you both and what you expect from it, so you both know what your getting into and get what you expect.

One persons kinky is anther persons norm. I suspect having sex with lights on may have been considered kinky by our great grandparents. It is all relative. |
