Reports of a vegan thread going viral because Morrison's reduced the price of an octopus to 36p from £1.41 The poster was happy that an intelligent life was priced so low and intelligent life should not be eaten. On the question of life what would be a fair price and on the question of eating intligent life . Tell that to a seal ..

I got beat up by an octopus once that sneaked up behind me.

I hate being sucker punched.

Serious reply

I think that if a sentient being has been killed for food then the price is irrelevant. I'd rather it was eaten than wasted so reducing the price in order to sell it seems sensible.

As a vegetarian I feel like it would have been worse if it got chucked away because no one bought it, and therefore died for nothing.

I'm not vegetarian but they're my feelings too.

Even at £1.41, you have to ask yourself how it can be so cheap. I'm a vegetarian, so have no interest in eating them, but I too hope it didn't die in vain.

Most stores re-reduce stock so would probs went down 1.41 at first earlier on in the day still never sold so reduced again (I'd assume)

Looking at the photo of it, £1.41 was the original price.

"Four pence an arm ... and four pence for the rest "

Sounds like a Tolkein quote but to be fair...

Market forces will dictate
