I've updated my profile today and I feel I may have crossed over to the dark side.
As a woman - (yes I know its a couples profile ) I feel I have to be mega assertive , blunt and brutal to state basic facts.
That's not who I am , I'm little and lovely and a quiet soul really ,well until the first bottle of wine is consumed.
I hate the passive aggressive type of profiles but understand why people have them...often born from total frustration.
My question is when does a bio cross the line between pleasant to preachy and just plain passive aggressive?
Sorry for the essay...I will happily respond to any answers written in the form of an essay and reward with a star for good measure

I had a quick read and it looks fine to me.
That doesn't mean to say people will read it and take what you wrote on board though.
I had a ranting profile once, to see if it made a difference.
It may have put some men off, but messages were still of the same kind. |

I’ve just read it, and I think it’s really good. It’s factual and clear, and says what you want to say well.
If someone thinks you’re passive aggressive or whatever, then they aren’t right for you anyway I guess? |

Your question :
My question is when does a bio cross the line between pleasant to preachy and just plain passive aggressive?
Everybodys perceptions differ but as a rule of thumb i'd go for :- stating clearly what you are looking for and what you offer is PLEASANT
Throw in a Can'ts and Mustn'ts and Judgement's of others then that's PREACHY
Not stating your expectations/needs/wants directly and then deleting, blocking or bad mouthing others to anyone who will listen instead of dealing with a person as an adult face to face is PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE.....
Can't say i've seen passive aggressive bios before ..... Unless it's those that say if you do this then we will ignore you ...........

I don't understand why people feel the need to have ranty aggressive profiles. If people don't read profiles then ranting at them ain't gonna change that but it might put off someone that might otherwise be interested. Just my take. |

And then I realise I haven't answered the question...I think it's possible to state clearly what you're looking for without being unpleasant. That to me is where the line is. |

I know. This always makes me laugh. It's as if people think...... No one reads my profile so I'LL DO IT IN BIG LETTERS.......
It's like big letters for the blind or shouting for the deaf. |

I’m honestly looking for parts you are talking about. To me your profile reads that you are a woman who knows what she wants including the sub aspect but that doesn’t mean you are going to suffer fools, ignorant men, or people who don’t understand what being a sub is.
It’sa great profile and as a man I think I have the right to say that most men do need to be told what’s what even if that means spelling it out in plain, simple language that can’t be misinterpreted though I’m sure many still will |

I’ve read your profile and I don’t think it’s preachy in the slightest, let alone passive aggressive, I’d say it’s one of the more easier going sounding couples/ women’s profiles I’ve read.
There’s plenty on here that just have a list of demands and tell you exactly what you need to do if you want to be one of the chosen ones, I think to myself why are men willing to lose all dignity and self respect to jump through a load hoops to pander to these people just to get a shag.
It’s hard to say when they cross over that line, but I think it’s when you get the impression that men are just cocks on legs for their pleasure, while sounding incredibly po faced without a hint of humour. |

Does an aggressive profile work?
In most cases I think it will put those who read it off and have no effect on those who never read profiles, better to have a simple profile and do your own searching. |

"Awesome...
Its important to me that my profile is a reflection on who I am and I think it does that.
Being normally of a cheery disposition I was worried I'd loose the essence so to speak. "
